I 4-11 club was opened with •the'44 pledge-- and l dge- and motto. After Meribeth read the minutes of the last meeting, everyone answered the roll call which was "Tell how far you are on,your gar- ment and explain any pro- blems you had with it." Donelda and Cheryl gave us each a copy of the cover design they had prepared for us and Sheila reminded us to be at Taylor's stor , by a 'quarter to five to ca t 'h the bus to the Ice Capades. Our leaders showed us how to apply a waistband and let us each try two methods of staystitching. They also described some waistband finishes and demonstrated how to hem a skirt. The next meeting was held on Monday, April 6, at the WI hall, Belgrave. Stylish Stitchers The sixth meeting of the Belgrave 1I was held March 30 at the Women's Institute hall.. We opened the meeting with the 4-H pledge. They answered the roll call by stating a technique we have learned on our garment. We talked about variations in vests. The leaders taught us how to sew in the lining, how to top stitch and how to apply bias tape. We all did a cross -word puzzle and closed the meeting with the club motto. SUNNY SPRING SEWERS Meeting seven of the Sunny Spring Sewers was held March.30 at the home of Mrs. Jacklin. Carol opened the meeting with the 4-H Pledge. The members were asked to work on their sheets: cost report of garment and gar- ment evaluation. The members then worked on the clothesline quiz. Grey Township on October 3, i K , a son of the late Nelson Hayden and Elizabeth Thompson. In early 1016 he Pined' the, 161st Battalion Canadian Overseas Ex- peditionary Forces. On arrival in France he was transferred to the 58th Battalion. In 1917 he was wounded in action and sent to England for prolonged hospitalization before being returned to Canada. He was a member of the Windsor branch of the War Pen- sioners Association aid .also a member of ,the Seth Bat- talion of the Detroit -Windsor branch. Mr. Hayden is survived by one sister, Mrs. William (Margaret) Grant . ' of Lucknow; and two brothers, Fred of Gerrie and Ben- jamin, RR 2, Wingham, There are also several nieces and nephews.
