Christian 7 and Mary 6 are the children of Mr. and Mrs. Holger Feldskov of RR 1, Fordwich. The costume carnival which was preceded by a Tyke exhibition hockey game and a demonstration of figure skating skills was termed by many to be the most colorful in years. Master of , ceremonies for the event was Peter Keil while Harold Gibson, Mrs. Jacqueline Smith and Lyn McKay were costume judges, The figure skating demonstration was under the direction of club professional Mrs. M. L Lobsinger. Skaters performing in the demonstration -included: jump badge - Kendra Statia, Sandra Bende, Tracy Johnson; free style - Laurie Gedcke, Shelly Stade, Linda Wilson; Novice 2 - three turns: Wendy Winkle, Cindy -Litt; back cross cuts: Jody Potts, Kevin Stale, Leisa Heimpel; back inside edges: Lucy D'Arcy, Kim Statia; forward to back cross cuts: Sharon Rowley, Sandra Gedcke; preliminary , free skate and Junior Bronze Dance: Tammy Storm, Margaret Thornton, Karen Mrs. Eva Harris is hostess for meeting FORDWICH — Mrs. Eva Harris hosted the February 12th meeting of the Evening Unit ladies of Fordwich United Church. Mrs. Harris read a poem on 'Peace' to open the meeting. The worship committee, Mrs. Donaldson and Mrs. Connie D'Arcey, chose as their theme 'Peace and Love'. Scripture was taken from the 17th chapter of St. John's Gospel and Mrs. Donaldson gave a short meditation on Peace. Mrs. D'Arcey closed the devotions with prayer. Mrs. Harris chaired the business. Thirteen Members answered the roll call with something for the layettes the group is making. Program conveners Mrs. Florence D'Arcey and Mrs. Frieda D'Arcey read articles on the theme, 'Partners in Crisis'. Mrs. Florence D'Arcey read about homes, marriages and family breakups. Mrs. Frieda D'Arcey read about ministers who serve as chaplains in hospitals and the good they, do forothers. MRS. DERRILL HALLMAN r— Lakelet Donald Hallman and John Ferguson returned Sunday after a four-day trip to a farm machinery show in Louisville and the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Mr.. and Mrs. William Behrns and Bonnie and Wayne Sage visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Taylor, Goderich. Mr. and Mrs. Bannikoff and family of Waterloo were Weekend guests with Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Foerter and boys. Mrs. Jean Hutchison read a poem as the feature. Sixteen tables of progressive euchre were in play Friday evening in the community hall, when the senior citizens sponsored a euchre party. High scores were held by Mrs. Norma Leppi,ngton and Russel Nickel; second high were Minnie McElwain and Peter Browne. Mr. Kreiger of Palmerston and Helen Nickel were winners ' of special prizes. Larry Montoux of Toronto spent a couple of days last week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Don Montoux. Friends of Jack Wilson will be pleased td 'know that he was moved from K -W Hospital to Listowel Memorial Hospital last week. He is wished a speedy return to good health. Mr. and Mrs. Brian Elliott Belmore Mr. and Mrs. Rod Wright are proud parents of a baby girl. The Valentine dance in Belmore was an enjoyable success. Tom Inglis, Harry Mulvey and Harvey McMithael have returned home from Florida. Mac Inglis, Mac Eadie, Bill Mulvey and John Dickson attended a curling competition at Vanastra. On Saturday they won three of four games but they lost on Sunday to Seaforth. They also played rinks from Listowel. The Squirts defeated Clifford 6-3 in a hockey game played last week. The Pe& Wets defeated Belgrave 8-2 and •the Bantams sent Belgrave home tenting over an 8-0 score. The Tykes went down to defeat at the hands of the Kurtzville team who were at the top of a 7-0 score of Kitchener spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Gary Sothern and family. The sympathy of the community goes to Mrs. Jim Hadley , and family on the death of her husband who passed away on Saturday in Listowel Memorial Hospital. Friends were sorry to hear that Dave Dinsmore , was a natient last week in the Listowel hospital, Dinner guests Sunday with Mrs. Norman Harding were Mr. and Mrs. Grant Bart - man and family of Gowanstown, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Harding and family.
