Gordon Godkin Relatives mourn passing of accident victim A retired Seaforth man, who lived alone at 19 John Street, was killed • last Monday, January 26, when snow and ice slid from the rQof of his house, striking him. Hugh Thompson was 68 years of age. Mr. Thompson was found by a television serviceman about 1 p.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Dr. R. W. Flowers, He is survived by one son, Kenneth M. • of Hudson, Quebec; one brother, W. Jack Thoihpson of Seaforth; five grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Hazel Campbell, Mrs. Robert Wilson and ' Mrs. Howard Irwin, all of Wingham. He • was predeceased by his wife, the former Margaret Irwin, in 1972; one sister, Mrs. John (Florence) Hoelscher, and one brother, Cecil. The late Mr, . Thompson rested at the R. S. Nethery dies at home ilFollowing a brief illness, Herman Alexander Nethery passed away at his home in. Blyth an Tuesday, January 27, He was in his 82nd year. Mr. Nethery was born on July 27, 1900, in Morris Township, a son of the late John Nethery and Mary Ellen Henderson, He received his elementary education at Browntown and, etelgrae,e Public School and .attended " Wingham • High School, He- farmed on the' third line of Morris Township for many years, .. He was a member of Trinity Anglican Church, Belgrave; Belgrave Loyal Orange Lodge No. 462; the Royal Black Knight, Blyth Preceptory 1226, and also served as a director on the Belgrave Co -Op Board, On December 30, 1931, he married the' former Alta Hamilton at the home of her parents in Fordwich. She predeceased him on August 22, 1979. He was' also predeceased by three brothers and four sisters. He is survived by one son, Alex Nethery of Blyth; one brother, Abner Nethery of Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Lucknow, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Wade, Wingham. The late Herman Nethery rested at the Tasker Funeral Home, Blyth, where com- plete funeral and committal service was conducted Thursday at two o'clock by Rev. J. T. M. Swan of Wingham and Belgrave Anglican parishes. Spring interment will take place in Brandon Cemetery, Belgrave. Pallbearers were Clare Van Camp, RR 1, Belgrave; Glen Van Camp and William Alex Nethery, RR 4, Brussels; Jack Higgins, RR 5, Brussels; Henry' Pattison and Bert Daer, Blyth. 'C ,,.
