Wingham, paSseti away • suddenly on Tuesday, Deember 23, while he Was being transferred to Lon- don's Westminster Hospital. He was in his '71st year. Born in Turnberry Township on December 1, • 1919, -Mr. Vanstone was a son of the late William Vanstone' and Martha Mae -Belle Armstrong. He (-Wended School, Turnberry Township, and the• Wingham High School and was a maintenance man for Lloyd Doors, Wingham, during his early life. He later was employed five ,years in fahritagek itt Stattlq Doer: Systems Ltd, He retired in 1965. • • Mr. VanstOne will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. He was active • for many years in baseball, • bowling, curling and ping- pong, winning several • trophies. In earlier years he . played the violin and banjo • in Vanstone's Orchestra, playing for dances in the community. He particularly enjoyed working outdoors in his vegetable and flower gardens in summer and hunting in the winter. • He is survived by his wife, • the former Nora Newell, whom he married on Sep- tember 17, 1936; one daughter, Ferne Vanstone of Toronto; one son, Kirk Vanstone, Wingham ; and two grandchildren, John and Laurie Vanstone of Wingham. There is one sister, Mae RichardSon of Orillia; and one brother, Sam Vanstone, Wingham.
