Bill Brophy netted four
goals last Thursday to pace
the Wingham Lions to a 6-2
Lwin over the Seaforth
Midgets. Rick Scrimgeour
and Daryl Holmes also
scored for the Lions as they
upped their record to three
wins against no losses..
Kelly .O'Hagan played a
strong game in the Wingham
net, allowing only two goals,
both on powerplays. The
Lions took 14 minor penalties
to eight for Seaforth.
Wingham's next home
game is Thursday against
Mitchell at 8p.m.
Royals ourfhustle Lanc
to notch 8-4 win Fridt
A hustling Wingham
Royals club outskated the
rival Lucknow Lancers en
route to an 8-4 victory Friday
evening at the Lockridge,
Memorial Arena.
Seven Royals scored for
Wingham in the win, Which
brings its record to 2-3-3 for a
total of seven points in the
standings.
The game was' fast and
furious throughout, with
each team scaring twice in
the first 20 minutes. Twice
the Royals/ ,overcame one -
goal deficits to tie the game,
with Don Hastie scoring

Murray's goal for the
Lancers was matched by
Rick Jacklin's first goal of
the game, assisted by Kevin
Hastie and Jirn McGee. The
Lancers outshot the Royals
and Hugh Nichol in the
Wingham net made several
good stops as the Lancers
attempted to take the lead.
The Royals began to take
over in the second period,
scoring twice in the first
three and a half minutes.
Steve Caslick opened the
scoring at 1:49, taking a pass
from McGee and then net-
ting his own rebound. Rick
MacLennan also assisted.
Jacklin scored his second
goal to put the Royals up 4-2,
with Bob Johnston assisting.
After Stanley had scored to
put Lucknow back into the
game, McGee scored the
eventual winner, an
unassisted, shorthanded
effort, blasting a high shot
past the Lancer goalie.
Murray Black put the
Royals up by three when he
scored after he and his line -
mates outhustled and out-
worked the Lancers in their
own end. Dave Golley and
McCutcheon assisted on the
score.
Blair scored the Lancers'
final goal with 39 seconds
remaining in the period.
Wingham again started
quickly in the third period
when McCutcheon scored
after just 31 seconds, Caslick
assisting. Golley finished the

The next home game will
be this Saturday when the
Royals host Mildmay at 8:30
p.m. It will be the first
meeting of the season bet-
ween these rivals. Come out
