on Usborne Township farm
The 1980 Huron County
Plowing Match was held
Sept. 27 on the Usborn Town-
ship farm of County Warden
Bill Morley and was very
successful.
Secretary Graeme Craig
Said close to $1,600 was paid
out in prize Monies and at-
tendance wasabout the
same aslast year.
Debbie Armstrong of
Wingham was crowned
Huron Queen of the Furrow
by last year's winner Janet
Shapton of Exeter.
Miss Shapton represented
Huron at the International
Plowing Match in \Woodstock
and competed in the Miss In-
ternational contest.
The other Huron Queen of
the Furrow contestants were
Carol McIntosh, Seaforth
and. Linda Machan from
Brussels. Conveners of this
event were Marie McGavin
and Helen Craig.

Russel dale.
The log sawing cerfiest saw
a pair of pdliciticians
showing great technique end
winning easily. PosSessing
great teamwork were Huron -
Middlesex MPP Jack Rid-
dell and Huron -Bruce 10,1P
Murray Cardiff. It was pro-
bably the first time they.
were both satisfied with the
outcome of one individual
event.

Farmer fined
for failure
to keep records
Mrs. Carl Vogk of :Born-
holm won the 'prize for
guessing the weight of the
team of show horses owned
by Ken Duncan. They
weighed just over 4,000
pounds.

annual banquet will be held
Friday, October 24 at the
