J. Leahy Bursary
To honor our physician of 27 years, and to en-
courage the pursuit of medical studies, the Dr.
P J. Leahy Bursary is being established in the
Faculty of Medicine at The University of Western
Ontario, London, Ontario. It will be awarded
annually to a student from Teeswater and com-

and all other disciplines in the faculty.

early July ceremony when

Wingham and James Robert
McGee, RR 3, Wingham,
ekchanged marriage vows.
Rev. John Roberts of
Belgrave performed the
ceremony on July 5 at two
o'clock amid a setting of
candelabra surrounded by
silk flowers, including white
dogwood branches, a single
cerulean blue rose, yellow
daisies, blue and white
carnations and caladium
leaves.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Don Rae,
Wingham, and the groom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs.
George McGee, RR 3,

white stephanotis, baby's
breath, white roses and blue
daisies with white
streamers.
Stephanie Rae of Kit-
chener was her sister's maid
of honor. She wore a gown of
light blue polyester knit
styled with round neckline,
flounced elbow -length
• sleeves, bosom waistline
with off-centre blue silk
flower and a long flowing
skirt. She carried a nosegay
of blue silk roses, white
daisies, and baby's breath
with yelloW streamers. She
wore a halo of white daisies
in her hair.
Bridesmaids were Mrs.
Rae Robinson of Wingham, a
close friend of the bride; and
sisters of the bridal couple,

Receiving guests, the
bride's mother wore a gown
of • floral blue polyester
satapeau accented with a
matching jacket. She chose a
wrist corsage of talisman
carnations and yellow tea
rotes. The groom's mother
chose a dusty rose silk crepe
ensemble with a corsage of
old rose roses and miniature
orchids.
The bride and groom
travelled to the Valhalla Inn,
Kitchener, for an overnight
stay, the bride wearing her
wedding gown. They later
went by car . to Niagara
Falls.
Guests attended the
wedding from several Points
in Ontario, as well as from
Chicago. An honored guest
was the bride's only sur-
viving grandmother, Mrs.
Christina Vrana of Chesley.

are graduates of F. E. Madill
Secondary -School. The bride
graduated from the Nursing
Assistants Training Centre
and is employed at the
Wingham and District
Hospital. The groom
graduated from Centralia

a position at Toronto East
General and Orthopedic
Hospital.
Open clinic
Dr. Barbara E. Cameron
and Dr. William M.
Stephenson opened their new
veterinary clinic at
Ostrander on July 16.
Ostrander is a small hamlet
1.5 miles north of Tillsonburg
on Highway 19.
Dr. Cameron graduated
from OVC Guelph in 1973 and
was associated with the
Wingham Veterinary Clinic
for two years. Since then she
has been an associate of, Dr.
Gary Gallowway in Aylmer.
,Barbara is the daughter of
Mrs. Kenneth Cameron and
the late Kenneth Cameron of
Lucknow.
Dr. Stephenson is a 1978
graduate of OVC Guelph.
After graduating he was
associated with the Drayton
Veterinary Clinic for one
year, then went to Aylmer,
where he worked with Dr.
Gallowway.
Dr. Stephenion is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. • Robert
Stephenson, RR 9, Wood-
stock.
They will be operating a
large and small animal
practice.
David and 'Karen Elliott of
Ottawa, who have been
holidaying with their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eric
Elliott, at Wasaga Beach for,.
the past two weeks, visited
with Gaunt and Currie
relatives of Wingham on the
weekend and with their aunt,
Miss Leah Currie, at
Huronview.

The bride chose a gown of
white polyester chiffon over
taffeta with high neckline,
fitted waistband, dolman
sleeves with wide cuffs and
cathedral train. The gown
..was trimmed with guipure
lace. A pillbox headpiece
held her two-tiered waltz -
length veil bordered with
guipure lace and she carried
an ' all -white bouquet of
gardenias, white roses and
stephanotis:

Brussels was her sister's
matron of honor and
bridesmaids were another
sister, Miss Sandra Carson
of Gorrie, Mrs. Maurice
Irvine, cousin of the bride, of
Brockville, and two friends
of the bride, Mrs. Robert
Breadner, Waterloo; and
Miss Betty Ann Leahy,
Teeswater They were
gowned alike in floor -length
dresses of dusty rose silesta
jersey, styled with cowl
necklines and A-line skirts
with side slits. They carried
nosegays of white roses,
stephanotis. baby's breath
and dusty rose feathered

streamers.
The bride's niece, Heather
McDonald of Brussels, was
flower girl. She wore a floor -
length white dress similar to
the bridal gown and carried
a small wicker basket
containing flowers in similar
shades to those carried by
the senior attendants.
Robert Breadner. of
• Waterloo was groomsman
and head usher was Mike
Hadlow of Toronto, a friend
of the groom,. Other ushers
were Neil McDonald of
BruSsels, the bride's
brother-in-law, Dennis
Schram, Shedden, cousin of
the groom, and Mark
Rundle, Palmerston, a
friend of the groom.
Dinner was served at
Ranton Place, Palmerston,
and was followed by a
reception. The bride's
mother received guests in a
street -length aqua chiffon
dress. Her accessories were
taupe and she wore a white
gardenia corsage. The
groom's Mother chose a
street -length dress of rose
patterned crepe with white
accessories and a white
orchid corsage.
For honeymooning in
Bermuda, the bride wore an
ensemble of camel and navy
linen with rose accents.
Navy accessories completed
the outfit and her corsage
was the single gardenia from
her bouquet.
Mr. and Mrs. Crosbie are
residing at 36' Fraserwood
St., Apt. 1, Toronto. Guests
attended the wedding from
Sault Ste. Marie. Sarnia,
Edmonton, London, Brock-
ville, Toronto; Kitchener and
Naples, Florida. A rehearsal
party was hosted at Ranton
Place by the groom's mother
and five pre -nuptial events
honoring the bride were held
by friends and relatives.

Missionary Societyof Knox
Presbyterian Church,
Belmore, with selected
verses from the 23rd Psalm.
Mrs. John Dickson read the
story of the potter from the
18th chapter of Jeremiah and
a thoughtful meditation on
that passage, -concluding
that many wek, afflicted
people have accomplished
much when their lives were
yielded to the Master Potter,
God.
The roll call was answered
with descriptive names for
Jesus. Mrs. John Stokes read
thank -you letters from Mr.
and Mrs. Elmer Ballagh and
Mrs. Clugston, as well as a
letter of appreciation from
Mrs. Keith Humphrey for the
quilt the ladies made for her.
The president announced
that calendars for 1981 may
now be ordered and the book
is now circulating from
which members may order
gifts or cards.
The • topic, 'Economic
Rights', was read by....Mrs.
Don MacAdam who also led
a discussion on what people
might do to help Canada's
native peoples and the
unemployables in -this land in
their struggle to achieve
economic rights. It was
indicated that "we must give
up Madison Avenue values,
become more self-sufficient
Reunion held by
graduate nurses
The former graduate
nurses of Wingham General
Hospital held their annual
picnic July 20 at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Wilfrid Pegelo,
Cargill.
Aftera bountiful dinner at
1 p.m., Mrs. Lillian
Gallaher, president, con-
ducted a short business
meeting. She opened with
two poems from the book,
'This and That'. Mrs. Eva
Carr, set retary-treasurer,
read the minutes and
correspondence. Several
letters were read from
nurses who were unable to
attend.
A minute's silence was
observed in memory of Mrs.
Marie McKenzie • of Ailsa
Craig, a former nurse who
passed away on July 13. A
donation was made to the
Ontario Heart Foundation.
It was decided that Mrs.
Gallaher remain as
president and Mrs. Carr
secretary -treasurer for 1981.
Mrs. Florence McKenzie,
Lucknow, invited the group
to her home for the 1981
picnic the third Sunday in
July at 12:30.
A vote of thanks was ex-
tended to Mr and Mrs.
Pegelo for sharing their
home.
