carnations for the ceremony
uniting in marriage Teresa
Anne O'Malley and Ben-
jamin Earl Blackwell on
Saturday, June 14, at 3:30.
Parents of the couple are
Mr. and Mrs. Charles
O'Malley and Mr. and Mrs.
John G. Blackwell, all of
Teeswater.
Given in marriage by her
parents, the bride chose a
white gown styled with a
pleated skirt and a ruffle of
imported Belgian alenc-on
lace extending into a train.
The long sleeves were edged
with ruffles of alencon lace
and a Juliet lace cap held her
lace -edged knee-length veil.
She carried a cascading
bouquet of pink roses,
,stephanotis - and baby's
breath_

Ripley was, her sister's
matron of honor. She wore a
floor -length gown of deep
pink satin crepe with a
smocked bodice and full
sleeves. She carried a
cascade of pink roses, white
daisies, blue and -pink
starflowers and baby's
breath. She wore pink
starflowers in her hair.
Similarly gowned were her
senior attendants, Miss
Marilyn Robertson of
Toronto and Mrs. Bernadette
Scott, Ftipley, friends of the
bride; Mrs. Mary O'Malley
of Teeswater, sister-in-law of
the bride; and the junior
bridesmaid, Paula Swanson
of Peterborough, niece of the
bride.
The flower girl, Karen
McKay of Goderich, niece of
the groom, wore a deep pink
dress covered by a white
eyelet pinafore. She carried
a basket of flowers similar to
those carried' by the senior
attendants.

A dinner, and reception
followed at the Teeswater
Complex_ Guests were
received by the parents of
the bride and groom. The
hride's mother were a floor -
length gown of ivory and
cerise . with an orchid cor-
sage. The groom's mother
these a floor -length green
gown with a corsage of
yellow roses.
For travelling to Las
Vegas and hos Angeles, the
bride wore a blue street -
length dress with smocked
bodice and a wrist corsage of
blue and pinta. flowers. On
their return, they took up
residence m Teeswater.

Women's Institute held its
monthly meeting at the
Community Hall July 9, with
the motto Just for Today'.
Mrs. Metcalfe read a
poem, `Just for Today'. She
also gave current events,
political and, local. Dean and
Steven Tiffin entertained the
ladies with three songs
which they sang without
accompaniment.
Mrs_ John Bell was the
guest speaker, her topic, the
Quebec Referendum. Mrs.
Bell spoke with some
authority on the situation in
Quebec, having Ireeta Wee
and lived in that province for
many years. There was a
question period following her
talk_
Mrs_ Metcalfe thanked
Mrs. Bell for her informative
address.
Mrs. Garnet Farrier gave
a report on the 32nd District
Annual Conference` held in
April and Kiss Merle Wilson
spoke on the Officers'
Conference in Bervie.

miscellaneous shower at the
home of Mrs. Lloyd Keeso of
Listowel.
A bridal shower cake was
presented to the bride by the
grandmother of the groom -
elect, Mrs. S. Byford of
Mount Forest, and the cake
was rut hy flier.e and her
mother, Mrs. Russell Noble.
Initialled grocery items
were also presented by 16
ceighbors and relatives who
attended.

sage was yellow roses.

points, the bride wore a rosy -

red rose in her hair.

wide brimmed picture hat,
with a lace veil, a gold
amethyst necklace given to
her by her paternal grand-
mother, and Ferried a bou-

roses mixed with baby's
breath.

FORDWICH — Mrs. Ron
Livermore hosted the ,July
meeting of the evening unit
of the United Church
Women. Mrs. Harris opened
the meeting with a poem and
a hymn was sung followed by
prayer. Fifteen members
answered the roll call. '
Mrs. Kritzer and Mrs.
Fraser conducted the
worship service. Mrs.
Kritzer read Psalm 103 and
Mrs. Fraser read an article
about God's goodness and
loving care to all_ A hymn
was sung and 'Mrs. Kritzer
closed the worship with
prayer.
A letter was read from the
group's adopted foster child
and a picture of him was
shown to the members. A
member of the group writes
to him once a month_
Mrs Doug Harding chose
as her program theme 'T
Time to Love and Live
Day to Day'. She closed
program with prayer an
conducted some games and
contests as it was an outdoor
barbecue meeting. Mrs.
Livermore was thanked for,
her hospitality and Mrs.
Penny and Mrs. C. D'Arcey
were the lunch committee
for the meeting.
The next meeting will be
held at Mrs. Harris' home in
Septeniber.
