LIBRARY OPENING—Lt. Governor Pauline McGibbon of Ontario cut the ribbon to officially open the new headquarters of the Huron County Library in Goderich last week. Holding the ribbon were Don McGregor, former Chairman of county council's property committee, and Joe Kerr, cutrent chairman of the committee. The county nes spent about $200,000 on the building (formerly a Pentecostal Church), renovatIonS and shelving. The library is located on Waterloo Street, near the square. • Tc -vim Council bri • Wingham is not in favor of quarterly colleetion of the board of education levy, and will write a letter saying so. Council received,a letter from the Minty asking for input into the proposal by the board of education to collect the levy four times rather than twice a year. The board explained the change would mean an in- terest saving of about $7,000 a year to it, however Councillor David Cameron commented he can't see any advantage to the municipality and Councillor Tom Deyell, finance com- mittee chairman, said he opposes any change. 0 0 0 The town will pay half the vast of a pair of safety boots once a year for men in the works department, but they will have to buy their own gloves, council decided. Reeve Joe Kerr asked for a policy ruling on the matter, noting the town never used to Bus Ministry ftmd, and the ladier who helped to make arid serve the hutch, dtWing our.. recent breavement. • Thanks also to the :six nephews for acthig Ps.
