Nearly $2,000 in. cash and
cheques was stolen from
Vance's Drug Store in
Wingham last week.
Police report the cash
register in the store was
cleaned out sometime after
the store dosed Thursday
evening.. ,. The theft was
discovered by the owner at
about 8 p.m. There was no
report of drugs having been
taken.
No sign of forced entry was
discovered, and police
speculated the theft might
have been committed by
someone who hid in the store
until after it had dosed and.

Wingham to hand Mrs.
Swanson the keys to her new
car. Also taking part in the
presentation were Terry
Merkley of the Red Front
Grocery, where she entered
the contest, and Ian
Douglass, sales manager for
John Cullen Chev-Olds which
provided the car.
To enter the sweepstakes,
contestants sent in their
names and addresses plus
proofs of purchase for

products. The winners were
then decided by a draw.
