Miss Bishop attributed
much 011ie centre's, success
to the dedication; and eager-
ness of volunteers and
drivers. She said, Miley
have donated their time to
either help Out with the
centre's function or to trans-
port clients into the centre. It
could not operate without
these people, who show such
compassion and under-
standing when dealing with
the clients."
Although the facility is
serving a number of corn-
intinities such as Wingham,
Luc -buoy', Belgrave, Blue -
vale, Gerrie and Ethel, she
explained that many smaller
areas are not being serviced.
These include Brussels and
Teeswater.
"At some point the centre
will have to expand (open
another day) to accommo-
date the growing number off
participants," she said,
adding that community and
area financial support and
more volunteers will be
needed in order to expand.
Catherine Walsh, chair-
man of the centre's steering
committee, explained that
the service is an incor-
porated charitable organi-
zation which opened its doors
April 1,1979. The committee,
set up in September, 1978,
evolved to address the needs
of •the homebound people in
the Wingham hospital catch,
ment area — Huron County
north of County Road 25, and
part of Bruce County.
The needs of this group of

tified by the Wingham hos-

Following opening exer-

was held, with President
George Taylor reporting on a
trip to. Huronview the
previous day. Those who
went had a most enjoyable
visit and meal, and the en-
tertainment after dinner
provided by some of the
residents was really the
greatest, he said. He noted it
was very disappointing to
have so few people go, only
16 out of a possible 30.
As this was the group's last
meeting for the summer a
motion was passed that
another pot luck supper be
held when it gets back in
