established under the Farm
Income Stabilization legiele-
lion, and is the 'first livestock
plan.
The plan will be based on
two six-month periods per
year, beginning on April 1
and Oct. 1, and will run for
five years. It will be
retroactive to April 1 of this
year.
The enrolment fees will be
paid one-third by the pro-
ducer and two-thirds by the
government.
The sow-weaner plan is
based on eight market hogs
per sow in each six-month
period.
Producers will receive the
difference between 90 and 95
per cent of the average price
for market hogs over the
preceding five-year period,
with an adjustment made to
reflect cash costs.
Although payments are
determined by market hog
pieces, they will be made on
