Arraigned for first-degrfe murder Willard Mitchell, 31, of RR 1, Clifford was arraigned on a charge of first-degree murder in provincial court in Walkerton on June 12. Mr. Mitchell was arrested by the Walkerton detach- ment of the Ontario Provincial Pelice following the death of his common-law wife, Sharon 'Ilene Rachar, 34, on the night of June 7. Ms. Rachar, the mother of four, was found dead on the lawn in front of the rented farmhouse where she lived with Mr. Mitchell, located two kilometres north of Clifford. She was dead from bullet wounds to the head. Presently in custody in Walkerton provincial jail, Mr. Mitchell is scheduled to appear again in court on June 26.
