PRESENTS PLAQUE—Shirley Hanula, right, past
president of the Wingham Kinettes, presents a past
president's plaque to Susan Coghlin, club president.
CHILDREN Sif PPORT—Susan Coghlin, president
the Wingham Kinettes, presents Martin Cretier, pres-
ident of the Big Brothers' Association, with a $151.26
cheque. The money was raised by a children's dance
held -May -9 that was sponsored by the Kinettes. Mr.'
Cretier said that about 160 children, ranging from
Grade 8 and under, attended the dance at the Armour-
ies. He extends his thanks fortheir support and good
behavior during the activity.

the oven," she explained.
For example with a pot roast
in the oven vegetables can be
set in later forr roasting or
baking and rolls can be
heated, during the 'final five
minutes of cooking time.

Given in marriage by her
parents, the bride chose a

Unit meets at
Michie home
BELGRAVE — The May
meeting of the Evening Unit
of the Belgrave . United
Church Women was held at
the .home of Mrs.,George
Michie with 14 embers
present.
Mrs John G. Roberts led
the worship service, opening
with a hymn. The scripture
lesson., the Parable of the
Sower. was read by Mrs.
Ross Anderson Miss Annie
Cook led in prayer. The
meditation, 'Planting and
Reaping', was given by Mrs.
Roberts and a hymn closed
the worship
The business was con-
ducted by the group leader,
Mrs. Jack Taylor.
Mrs' John Macintosh had
charge of the, program,
which was a continuation of
the study of Japan. Stories of
the atomic bombing in Hiro-
shima were read and also the
life story of a Japanese 'girl,
Setsuko Thurlitw•, who .sur-
vived the bombing and later
married a Canadian and is
presently living in Toronto.
I,unch was served by Mrs.
George Michle's group
held her silk , illueion
fingertip veil trimmed with
alencon lace and she carried
a bouquet of pink Sweetheart
roses, white stephanotis'. and
baby's breath. ' -

Burney of Wingham, • She
wore a floor -length gown of
pink polyester .sata peau.,
The dress was styled with
sweetheart neckline, ,'caplet
sleeves and empire waistline
and was trimmed with
Belgiap lace. She carried ,
miniature pink and white
carnations, . ivy • and baby's
breath.
In similar ensembles,were
four sisters of the bride,
Joanne, Karen and Andrea
Coultes - who • were
bridesmaids,' and Alison
Coultes who served as junior
bridesmaid.

guests. were .:ushered. , -by.
Kevin Pring, cousin of 'the
groom, of RR 5, Guelph,
Kevin Toner of Fordwich
and Murray Townsend,
Gowanstown. Paul Coultes of
Belgrave, a cousin of the
bride, was junior usher. '
Following the ceremony
dinner was served in the
church. An open reception
was held in • the Brussels,
•Morris and Grey Community
Centre. Brussels, The bride's
table was centred with a
wedding cake decorated with
pink and whitepetunias and
a waterfall. Pink candles
carried out the color scheme.

Twelve. members of the
Wingham Happy,..Gang et-
tendedthe Zone 33 rally held
in the Howick Conuntanity
Centre on Wednesday of last
week. After the opening
exercises and words of
welcome, reports were given
by the president, secretary
and treasurer, The
nominating committee then
gave -its report - an,d- the
election of officers was held.
The seniors were then
given a short but
enlightening address by
Jack Lorette, the first
president of the United
Senior Citizens of Ontario:
He mentioned the small
beginnings off the now vast
USCO movement. The
members then divided into
four workshop groups under
the capable direction of Ms.
Melanie McLaughlin. After
an allotted period of time
reports were given. Mr.
Lorette was surprised • at
some of the $problems faced—
by rural groups. -
After lunch an en-
tertaining program of old
songs was presented by the
Phrn o 4. II tyey McDowell
Dixie Belles of Mississauga.
This versatile group has
performed at some 180
coneerts in the last three
years •
Zonea3.consists of clubs in
Lucknow, • Wingham,
Wroxeter, Gorrie, Foirdvvichy
Cliiffford, Harriston and
Arthur.
LAKELET CAMPANIONS
At the second meeting of
the Lakelet club, the
members chose their club
name. Margaret Kreller was
hostess for the meeting and
the topic for demonstration
was first aid and safety in
the outdoors:
Mrs. Melvin Kreller
demonstrated how to make
-splints for broken bones and
how to stop bleeding, The
members chose brown or
green as colors for their' book
covers. -
