are Ed and Sue Carey of
Salisbury, Maryland, USA.
Given in marriage by her
parents, the bride wore an
Empress gown of ivory sheer
chiffon with a sweetheart
neckline and French Chantilly
lace at the waistline. The skirt
fell full to form a handkerchief
hemline. A detachable blouson
jacket with a Victorian
neckline, bishop sleeves and
slit back coveredsthe dress. A
matching Victorian hat
adorned with fingertip tulle
and blusher veil completed
her ensemble and she carried
an arm bouquet of calla lilies,
baby's breath, fern and palm
leaves tied with a large ivory
ribbon.
Matron of honor was Mrs.
Mary Gaunt of Chatham,
sister of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Mrs.
Suzanne Digel, Atlanta,
Georgia, sister of the groom;
Jan Wilson, Sherry Sullivan,
Chris Bolender and Dana
Culp, all of Kitchener. They
were dressed alike in ankle -
length emerald green
Empress gowns of chiffon
with sheer chiffon coats
caught at the waistlines with
ivory satin ropes. Each wore
side bands of emerald green
marabou feathers, leaves and
baby's breath. They carried
arm bouquets of Fiji mums,
baby's breath and fern with
trailing ribbons and flowers.
Best man.was Jon Harrison
of Waterloo, friend of the
groom. Dont Gaunt of
Chatham, the bride's brother-
in-law, Dr. Rick Beyers of
Waterloo, Dr. Bob Martin of
Reading, Pennsylvania, Terry
Hillier of 'Kitchener and
Marshall Curtis, Ottawa,
ushered guests. Brendan
Rigel of Atlanta, Georgia, the
bridegroom's nephew, was
ring bearer.
They wore emerald green
Chaucer tuxedos with wing -
collared shirts and tie bands.
The groom wore an ivory
Chaucer tuxedo, identical to
that worn by the ushers,
The bride's mother wore a
dusty green formal gown with
matching gathered jacket and
gardenia corsage. The
groom's mother wore a mint
green formal gown with a
gardenia corsage.
Following the ceremony, a
reception was held in the
ballroom of the Waterloo
Motor Inn. Dancing music was
supplied by Opus 1I. Out-of-
town guests were from New
York, Ohio, Pennsylvania,
Georgia, Florida, Maryland,
Toronto, Ottawa, Acton,
Burlington, Hamilton,
Wingham and Lucknow.
The couple left for a
honeymoon in Las Vegas,
Nevada, the bride travelling
in an ivory wool suit with
orchid Corsage, matching hat
andaccessbries. .
The bride is a graduate of
Sir Wilfrid Laurier University
and Stratford Teachers'
College and is employed by
the Waterloo County Board of
Education. The groom, a
graduate of the University of
Pittsburgh School of Dental
Medicine, practises in Kit-
chener. They live at 72
Highland Rd. W., Kitchener.

Easter Thankoffe ring
The Women's Missionary
Society of St. Andrew's
Presbyterian Church,
Wingham, held its Easter
Thankoffering meeting in the.
upper room recently.
President Mrs. G. Wall
opened the meeting with a
verse, 'He Arose'. Following
the singing of a hymn, Mrs. T.
Currie, on behalf of the WMS,
presented a life membership
certificate to Mrs. W. Lapp
who voiced her appreciation.
Mrs. H. Aitchison and Mrs.
G. Fishersang a duet, ac-
companied by Mrs. J. Conn at
the piano. Mrs. W. Congram
read scripture from the 14th
chapter of Mark's Gospel. She
also gave the meditation. Mrs.
Fred Lewis led in prayer. The
offering was received by Mrs.
Fisher and Miss Agnes
Williamson and dedicated by
Mrs. R. Hastings,
Following the singing. of a
hymn Miss Williamson in-
troduced the guest speaker,
Mrs. Jim Ward, who spoke on
the topic, 'Who Is My Neigh-
bor?'. Mrs. 0. Holmes
thanked the speaker.
The minutes of the last
meeting were read by the
secretary, Mrs. Roy McKay,
who also read the
'correspondence and called the
roll. The meeting closed with a
hymn and prayer by Mrs.
Lapp.
4-H' achievement programs
scheduled for North ;Huron
The 4-11 Homemaking Club
achievement . programs for
'Your Corner of the World'
represent the end of another
successful. 4-H project in'
Huron County.
Club members have learned
!
furniture arranging, storage,
lighting and color schemes for
their bedrooms. As well, they
created accessories for their
rooms with a macrame
project.
Grace Bird, a county home
economist with the the Ontario
Ministry of Agriculture and
Food, will be conducting the
achievement programs in
North Huron as follows:

HOWICK BAND—The Howick Central School Ukulele Bend entertained crowds at the
maple syrup festival in Belmore last Saturday. Playing several familiar tunes.' and
singing, the group was only one'aspect of the entertainment which included the step
dancing McMichael Sisters, Bruce County Folk Singers and Tom Wiling and his vio-
lin.
The senior citizens spon-
sored a• euchre party in the
community hall Friday night
with 14 tables in play. Mr. and
Mrs. Les Greenaway won the
high prizes. Winning the
consolation prizes were
George Thompson and Mrs.
Don Street. Mr. and Mrs. Stan
Moffatt won the anniversary
prize and winner of the lucky
draw was Marg Moffatt.

Twelve tables of card
players enjoyed a euchre on
April 8, Sara Anstett was high
man and Grant Wilton was low
man. High lady was Jean

law Indy. The door prize wag
won by Ethel Holmes and the

plans for the organization of a
car wash to be held May 10 at
the Gulf Service Station.

Nixon.entertained friends and
relatives Sunday afternoon for
a linen shower in honor of her
cousin, Elaine Mclntee of
Toronto, daughter of Eileen
Marks of Wroxeter. Elaine is
being married this month.
Those assisting the hostess
were Isabel Miller and
Elizabeth McKercher. Guests
attended 'from Brussels,
Jamestown, Ethel, Wroxeter,
Bluevale and Kitchener.

Tuesday evening of last week.

the gifts to Wanda who was
seated in a decorated chair.
