Theme of Mr. Coghlin's talk( was the role of a bank mana-I ger. The banks now offer more than 100 services to the custo- mers, according to Mr. Cogh- lin. He mentioned the handling of loans, surplus funds and what the individual can do for the banker. . The discussion period was very interesting and Optimist Cecil Wilson expressed the thanks of the club by present- ing Mr. Coghlin with a gift.' In other business, past president Wray Wilwon re- ported on the .progress of the new emergency addition to the Listowel Hospital. Finance chairman Bruce MacDonald reported on the ' Getaway Lottery ticket sales. A little over 100 tickets remain to be sold and the finance corn mittee expressed confidence all could be sold by May 31. The clublearned of the ex- Periences of Optimist Jack and Helen Ruttan and ,,past president Wray and Debbie Wilson during their recent Las Funeral service for Mrs. Brownlie Funeral service was held Wednesday of last week for Mrs. Eva Mildred Brownlie of 45 Alfred Street, Wingham. The Currie -Walker Funeral Home, Wingham, was in charge of arrangements and. Rev. Dr. Robert H. Armstrong conducted the two o'clock service. Interment followed in Wingham Cemetery. Pallbearers were Murray Gardner, Terry Gardner, Jim Farrish, Ivan Gardner, Scott Reid and Paul Gardner. Mrs. Brownlie passed away in the Wingham and District Hospital on Monday, March 31. She was in her 76th year. Born in Grey Township on January 31, 1905, she Was the former Eva House, a daughter of the late Freeman House and Edith Snell. She was predeceased by her first husband, Wayne Edgar Tomlinson, and later married William Brownlie. Mrs. Brownlie was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian „Church, and Majestic Rebekah Lodge No. 352 which she once served as Noble Grand. Left to mourn her passing is one daughter, Mrs. Lorne (Helen) Gardner of Wingham; four grandchildren, Mrs. Jim (Nancy) Farrish, Terry, Paul and Murray Gardner; and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by twd sisters, Mrs. Alfred (Beatrice) Free and Miss Violet. House, both former residents of Meaford. Anne Campbell dies in London Miss Anne M. Campbell of Lorne Ave., London, formerly of Wingham, passed away in Victoria Hospital, London, in her 68th year. She was the daughter of the late William J. Campbell and Mary Hutton, formerly of RR 2, Wingham, Left to mourn are two brothers, James H. Campbell, Wingham, and John L. Campbell, London; also one sister, Jean B. Campbell of London. She was predeceased by one sister, Marybelle. She was the dear aunt of Linda Campbell, Toronto, and Robert Campbell, London, The late Miss Campbell rested at the James M. Carrothers• Funeral Home, 843 Dundas Street, London, where complete funeral and com- mittal service was held April 4 at two o'clock with Rev. Farquhar MacKinnon of Centennial United Church officiating. Interment followed in Wingham Cemetery, Vegas and Los Angeles holi- day. Mrs. Robert Procter visited -Mr. and Mrs. Larry Mayberry and family of Londesboro on Easter weekend. Mrs. Grant McBurney dies in Ottawa Following an illness of eight months' duration, Mrs. Grant McBurney of Craig Henry Drive, Nepean, passed away in Ottawa on March 30. She was in her 37th year. Mrs. McBurney was born in St . -Eugene-de-Guigues., Quebec, and was the former Marie -Pause Caron, a daughter of Mrs. Etiola Caron of Quebec and the late Ar- mand Caron. She was a school teacher and, a member of the Roman Catholics Church. She married Mr. McBurney, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. McBur- ney, Belgrave, in Ottawa in 1967 and he survives, with two children, Stephen, 11, and Renee, 10 Seven sisters and five brothers also survive. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on April 2 at St. Remi Parish, Ottawa.
