meeting of the Lakelet
Women's Institute was held
April 3 at the home of Mrs.
Harold Wallace. • The
president, Mrs. Harry Judge,
opened the meeting with the
Opening Ode and Mary
Stewart Collect. Devotions
were .given by Mrs. Percy
Huth.
Fourteen members answer-
ed the roll call with payment
of fees. During the business of
the Meeting; choices were
made for short courses and
workshops for the coming
year. Kits for the cancer
canvass were distributed.

at the auction sale for. Cliff
Hallman on April 17.

was born and raised in
Montreal and during her

families moved', into her
• naighborhood. She spoke on
their customs and explained
many of their religious
holidays and how • they are
celebrated. Many were also
the custoins and habits of
Jesus' day.
She told how the French ,
Canadians would make
, flowers and decorate their
horsei and Wagons for Easter.

activities at the Wingham and
Area Day Centre for the
Homebound. An excellent
slide -tape production • off
'Belmore's Maple Syrup
Festival' showed the deter-
mination of a small local
community to build and sup-
port' its own community
centre. The group will be
attending the annual festival
on April 10.
A film entitled 'Walk a
While in My Shoes' depicted
the problems „of travel which
confront physically disabled
persons. Many interesting
questions were answered by
the film.
• Dorothy Townsend and
Annie Conn led an en-
tertaining singsong Tuesday
morning. Following it were
exercises and games. •
• Pin cushions and ceramics
were the two popular craft
projects for the week. The day
centre has accepted the
responsibility of tray favors
for the hospital auxiliary. This
will involve new craft ideas
and 100 tray favors to be pre-
pared at the centre every
second month. Clients are
looking forward to . starting
this commtinity,-minded pro-
ject.

Easter service
WROXETER — A disap-
pointingly small Ongregation
attended the Good Friday
services in Wroxeter United- -
Church,`but a much improved
attendance was seen at, the
Easter Sunday service, when
Rev. Ernest Fellows preached
an inspiring Serincin atid-the
choir sang two lovely an-
thems, 'There's a Carol in My
Heart', and, 'Christ Arose'.

Newfoundland where Rev.
Fellows had preached) of-
fered their infant daughter,
Amanda Mae Doreen, for,
baptism during this service.
A joint service with Gorrie
United Church was observed

The music was superb, with a
