UCW unit meets
at Copeland home
BELGRAVE — The Easter
meeting of the after ;Iron unit
of the UCW was ld at the
Copeland Home, Wingham,
with the seniors there as
guests.
To open the meeting, Mrs.
Cecil Coultes chose a poem en-
titled Follow Me, with Mrs.
George Johnston at the organ,
followed by the hymn `Rejoice
the Lord is King' and prayer.
Mrs. Leslie Bolt brought the
Easter message. She dwelt on
the Lord's supper, using the
picture `Last Supper' by Da
Vinci, ; which depicts the
reaction of the disciples to
Jesus statement, `Truly I say
to you, one of you will betray
me,, one who, is eating with
me."
Mrs. Bolt continued with a
reading `Hands' then told the
story of the masterpiece
known as the `Praying Hands°
and led in prayer.
The hymn `Crown Him With
Many Crowns' was sung
followed by a short business
period which included a thank
you to Mrs. Hibberd for so
ably convening for sick and
shut-ins ;
In his usual charming
,,manner Clark Johnston;
accompanied by Mrs. John-
ston, favored with a solo 'The
Old Rugged Cross'.
4irs. Ross Higgins read of
the resurrection, showing the
disbelief among the disciples
when Mary brought news of
the empty tomband of having
seen the Lord. When Jesus
appeared before the disciples
he said "Do not fear, I will be
with you until the end of time,
and beyond."
- Another hymn was sung,
then Mrs. Coultes led in the
dosing prayer.
An enjoyable social hour
and a tour of the home-voln-
pleted an uplifting and in-
teresting afternoon.
