passed away in 1944. He leaves
to mourn his passing, besides
his father, his wife, the former
Ellen Marguerite Filsinger of
Mildmay ; one daughter,
Laura of London; and fqur
sons, Doug of Mildmay,
Richard, Peter and Paul, at
home. There is one brother,
Mac of RR 1, Clifford. Besides
his mother, he was
predeceased by a sister,
Frances.

Miss Hazelwood
dies in London

A native of Wroxeter and
formerly a well known music
teacher in the area, Miss
Katherine Hazlewood of 315
Centre Street, Wingham,
passed away at St. Joseph's
Hospital, London, on Sunday,
March 30. She was in her 93rd
year and death followed a
brief illness.
Miss Hazlewood was born in
Wroxeter on January 15, 1888,
and was a daughter off the late
William C. Hazlewood and
Lucinda Johnston. She never
married. She was a member
of the Wingham . United
Church. '
Surviving are three cousins,
Mrs. S. V. (Ruth) Railton of
Welland, Mrs. E. D. (Eleanor)
Patterson, Paris, and Miss
Irene: Hazlewood of Brandon,
Manitoba.
Funeral service was held
Tuesday at three o'clock at the
Currie -Walker Funeral Home,
Wingham, followed by
cremation. Miss Hazlewood's
final resting place will be
Wroxeter Cemetery.

George Albert Auriel Carter of
141 Scott Street, passed away
Thursday, March. 27, at the
wingnam and District
Hospital. Mr. Carter was in
his 59th year and death
followed a lengthy illness.
A son of the late Albert
Carter and Emily Fox•, Mr.
Carter was born in Clinton on
January 2, 1922. During his
active years in Wingham, he
served as a councillor for four
years and worked fortlreAtown
Works Department for 20
yearA. He was a member of St.
Paul's Anglican Church and
Branch 180 of the Royal
Chadian Legion.
