The momentum seemed to be
with the Ironnien as the period

broke out of their own end and
connected for the game -winning
goal.
„Jay MacLaurin had a number
of people wondering why there
was no red light signalling a goal
as he rang one off the goalpoet six
minutes into the game. Two and a
half minutes later the Bears
opened the scoring when Doug
Taylor was screened on Clarence
Young's point ahot.
At 15:15 Steve Caloren skated
over the blueline and rifled one
which flipped out of Taylor's
glove to put the Bears in front by
two.
The Bears held onto their lead
through the rest of the period, but
began to slip in the second.. Gord
Kinahan got the home team on
the scoreboard as he flipped Ms
own rebound over Dave Rosner.
At the 8:10 mark MacLaurin
centred the puck to Dave Kieffer.
The puck deflected off Kieffer's
stick to Dale Whitfield, who was
standing alone at the far side of
the net and tipped it in for the
score.
Jamie White parried the puck
over the blueline and as Dennis
Knox took him to the boards he
passed to George Maxwell who,
with his forward momentum,
was able to lift the puck over
Taylor's padsas the goaltender
tried frantically to cross over

home club. 4-3 in an extremely:
entertaining matchup which
featured heavy checks, good end-

The Ironmen, who had a 48-33
