Ian Metcalfe read an original story titled 'A Pioneer Christmas'; Bonnie Ablett, Charlotte McKee, Grinny LeVan, Kim 9,nearid,lrene deVries sang' some ongs; An- drea McGregor played the piano and Shelley Tolton played her portable organ- . Brett Cameron thanked the nursing home for tke invitation to visit and also the residents for being a •good audience; The children brought --Christmas cards for each resident. At this paint t e: were joined by Unit 2 of the Wingham United Church: Women, who came to, help Gordon Gannett and Mrs. Annie Baker celebrate their December birthdays. Treats were served to everyone. The East Wawanosh Glee Club visited on the ',.19th under the supervision of Mr. Stevenson and Mr. Chaulk. After. presenting a half hour program of music these talented children spent con- siderable time visiting• the residents individually. Many of the residents know the parents and grandparents,of these young- sters, so the day was special. The Wingham .,Girl Guides, under the direction of Mrs. Carol Farnell, carolled here on ,the i8th, as did the United Church Junior Choir on the 20th. On Dec. 24 a Christmas party was held here for the residents who regularly attend. crafts on Thursdays and Probe on Mon- days. This party was sponsored by Mrs. Jane Malda, Mrs. Gerhard During' and Mrs. Hans Kuyvenhoven, Everyone had a good time. On Christmas Day Santa Claus arrived bright and early to distribute the many gifts left under the tree. Santa's wit and humor were appreciated by staff. and residents and the visit 1-ightened everyone's day. We thank Tess Crawford for taking the time to make the day memorable.
