Mrs. Garnet Farrier hosted the
first village card party of the
season last Tuesday evening with
only three tables of players, in
attendance. As it was ceneluded
that it is too busy a season, no
arrangements were made to hold
another party.
The Sunday School students of
Chalmers Presbyterian Church
have set December 22 as the date
for their Christmas concert. Last
Sunday was the last regular
Sunday School session until
April. The students will rehearse
for their concert on Saturday at 2
p.m.
Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Storey,
Heather, Jeffery, Karen and
Jennifer of Dungannon visited
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Alex
Craig and family.

patient in South Peel Hospital,
Mississauga. The community
wishes her a speedy recovery.
Michael Lewis celebrated his
6th birthday at the home of his

Lewis. Joining him for the
special occasion were Mrs.
Maimie Caslick, Wingham, Mr.
and Mrs. Tom Miller of
Palmerston and Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Empey, Auburn.

Mr. and Mrs. Alan Darling,
Miss Isabel Darling and Tom
Darling attended the funeral of
their aunt, Mrs. Ellen Barton, on
Thursday in Fergus. Also at-
tending from this area was
George Inglis.
A banquet was held Friday for
the Howick and Turnberry
councillors and township em-
ployees. Curling and card games
were enjoyed following the
banquet.
In hockey action last week, the
Midgets defeated Clifford 16-1
and 4-1. The Bantams' defeated
Blyth 13-0 and the Girls came out
on top of a 4-1 score with Mitchell.
The Tykes defeated Blyth 5-3 but
the PeeWees lost to Normanby in
a 2-1 score.
BIG GAME -The 9-1 victory Friday night over Southampton made it a big game for the
Wingham Ironmen and kept their winning record intact. Here Jim Blackwell scores.
