Belgrave resident dies
following brief illness
The death occurred i

on Wednesday, November 22, o
Thomas Prescott of Belgrave. H
was in . his 77th year and deat
followed a brief illness.
• Mr. Prescott was born i
Liverpool; England, a son of the
late John William Prescott and
Sarah ,Jand Stenson. He received
his elementary education at
Catforth, England, and furthered
his education at Hornel, New
York. During his early life, he
was employed as a truck driver.
On August 30, 1930, Mr.
n Prescott married the. former
Jane Elizabeth Kirby of
f Kirkham, England, in the
e Kirkham parish Church. They
h came to Canada in 1948 and
farmed in Grey Township until -
n 1973 when they moved to
Belgrave.
Surviving, besides his wife, are,
five sons, Roy of Ottawa, Brian of
Allred, Eric, Brussels, Trevor
Joseph, Toronto, and Vernon of
Chatham ; one daughter, Mrs.
Wallace (Valerie) Black of RR 5,
Brussels; and 18 grandchildren.
There is One surviving brother,
John William, in England. He
was predeceased by one son,
CYril, and one sister, Alice Flynn,
formerly of England.
The late Mr. Prescott rested at'
the M. L. Watts Funeral Home,
Brussels, where service was
conducted , by Rev. John G.
Roberts of Belgrave on Saturday
at two o'ciock. Interment
followed in Brussels Cemetery.
Pallbearers were . Jack Cox,
Clare Barlow, Elston Speiran,
Everett Robinson, Les Sefton and
Jim Hart, Floral tributes were
carried by grandsons, Danny
Prescott, Tim Prescott, Leslie
Black and Bradley. Black.
Miss A. McKinnon
was last member
of her family
The last surviving member of a
family of 12, Miss Annie
McKinnon of RR 1, Wingham,
passed away at the Rammeloo
Guest Home, Blyth, on Tuesday,
November 21. She was in her 86th
year.
Miss McKinnon was a daughter
of the late John McKinnon and
Mary Kennedy and was born in
Turnberry Township on August
16, 1893. She attended Holmes
School, Turnberry Township. She
was a member of Sacred Heart
Raven Catholic Church,
Wingham, and the Catholic
Women's League,
Miss McKinnon was prede-
ceased by sisters, Kitty Crowe,
Mary Austin; Sarah Skinn,
Maggie Sproal, • Mary Lannan,
Margaret Kilgallin and Cath-
erine O'Connor; and brothers,
Angus, Hugh, Alex and John.
The late Miss McKinnon rested
at the R. A. Currie and Son
Funeral Home, Wingham, where
family prayers were recited
Thursday evening. Removal was
made Friday to Sacred Heart
Church for service at 11 a.m.
conducted by Rev, A. J. Son-
derup. Final resting place will be
Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Wingham.
Pallbearers were Peter Vath,
John deGroot, Gordon Francis,
Jim Rutter, Donald McCormick
and L. G. Bryce. Edward Skinn
and Paul O'Brien carried
flowers.
The family of the late Charles
Finlay would like to thank all his
relatives, friends and neighbors,
who were so kind to him during
his illness and extended their
sympathy at the time of his
death. Special thanks to Rev. Dr.
Robt. Armstrong and the R. A.
Currie and Son Funeral Home
and the ladies of St. Andrew's
Presbyterian Church who pre-
pared lunch.
We would like to express our
sincere thanks to all those who
sent cards, flowers and donations
at the time of our recent bereave-
ment. Special thanks to Dr.
Leahy for his untirifit efforts
during her illness and to the
nurses on the second floor of the
Wingham and District Hospital

E. Henderson dies Nov. 24
WiA. Ellen Henderson of
W1igham and. formerly of
Wallace Township died on Nov.
24 a t -Uni %)ersity Hospital, London
at the age of 57.
Mrs. Henderson was born on
June 17, 1921 in Wallace Town-
ship to the late Perry Brisbin and
his late wife, the.former Myrtle
Buchanan. •
She was married on July 23.
1948 in Wingham to Jackson R
Henderson. They resided in
Wallace Township before moving
to Wingham in 1974. Mrs. Hen-
derson was a member of the
Wingharn United Church and the
United Church Women.
Besides her husband, she is
survived by two sons, Peter
Henderson of Palmerston and
Alex Henderson at home; two
daughters, Mrs. Daniel (June)
McLean of Dartmouth, N. S., and
Linda Henderson at home; four
brothers, Jim Brisbin of Aylmer,
Que., Mex Brisbin of Kitchener,
Robert Brisbin of Wallace
Township, 'Edward Brisbin of
Palmerston and one sister, Mrs..
Michael (Margaret) Baly of
Welland,
She was predeceased by two
brothers, John an'd Bill.
The funeral service was held' at
2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at the
Robert Trench Funeral Home,
Listowel with Rev, Barry
Passmore conducting the ser-
vice.
The pallbearers were Douglas
Henderson, Terry Henderson,
Verdun Zurbrigg, Paul Brisbin,
Doug Brisbin, Don Brisbin.
The flowerbearers were Alex
Robinson, Bruce McDonald,
Percy McComb.

Former resident
dies in London.
Charles Francis Finlay of 375
Ashland Ave., London, formerly
of Wingham, died in University.
Hospital, London, on Tuesday,
November 21, following a brief
illness. He was 68 years of age.
Mr. Finlay was born in Howick
Township on November 26, 1909,
a son of the late William J. Finlay
and Pauline Iona Wright. He was
educated in' Wroxeter ' and
Wingham and during his early
life, worked for a wool -combing
company at Acton. He later was
employed by ,Kelvinator as, a
foreman and more recently
delivered mail to RR 3, Wingham
residents.
His only sister, Mrs. Robin
(Minerva) , Campbell,
predeceased him in 1955. He is
survived by his brother-in-law,
Robin Campbell of Wingham;
one niece, Mrs. Fred (Grace)
McGee, Wingham; and one
nephew, Charles Campbell,
Seaforth.
Funeral service was conducted
Saturday at 1:30 at the R. A.
Currie and Son Funeral Home,
Wingham, by the minister of Mr.
Finlay's choice, Rev. Dr. Robert
H. Armstrong. Temporary en-
tombment took place in
Wingham Cemetery Chapel with
burial later in Wroxeter
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John
Campbell and Bill Donnelly of
London, Jim Carr, Ed Marsh,
Philip &aid and Carl Dinsmore.
Flower bearers were Lloyd
Montgomery and Chester
Casemore.
J. W. Sellers
was Morris native
A. native of Morris Township,
Joseph Ward Sellers of Huron -
view, formerly of the third
concession of Morris, passed
away Tuesday, November 21, one
day after his 81st birthday.
Mr. Sellers was a son of the late
Joel Henry Sellers and Annie
Armstrong and farmed in Morris
until his retirement. He was a
member of Brussels United
Church.
Left to mourn his passing is one
daughter, Mrs. Norman (Isa-
belle) Young of Seaforth. There
are five grandchildren and five
great grandchildren. He was pre-
deceased by his wife, the former
Cora Luella Souch (104,7); arid
four 'brothers, Roy, Charles,
Harold and Frank
The late Mr. Sellers rested at
the M. L. Watts Funerak, Home,
Brussels, where Rev, Eric
Ledrew conducted service
Thursday at two o'clock. In-
terment followed in Brusselsi
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Clayton
Sellers, Herb Travis, Frank
Garniss, John McArter, John
Armstrong and Earl Sellers.
