proud, but the teachers of the
East Wawanosh elementary
school must feel an inner pride
that so many fine students were
initially scholars in the Belgrave
school.
Higgins family
holds gathering
BELGRAVE — A family
gathering was held for Mrs. Lena
Higgins and her family in the
Wingham Institute Hall on Satur-
day. There were 46 present.
The evening was spent playing
games, progressive euchre and
dancing. Colleen Farrier played
several piano solos.
Family members were present
from Etobicoke, Long Branch,
Waterloo, Kitchener, London,
Goderich, Seaforth, Brussels,
Blyth, and Belgrave.

euchre were played at the Bel -
grave Weekly Euchre last Wed-
nesday evening in the Institute
Hall.

Mr. .and Mrs. Leslie Bolt
visited Mrs. Hilda Bolt of Wing -
ham, who is confined to Wingham
and District hospital since break-
ing her hip in a fall, October 21.

from the community and every-
one arrived dressed in costumes.
A prize was presented to Jason
Campbell, who had the best cos-
tume.
Everyone took part in several
games: Pin the tail on the Don-
key, Button -Button and Pushing
a Peanut. The I: smaller children
took part in a scramble hunt for
candies.
'A tasty lunch was enjoyed by
all, which the leaders and 4-H
members had prepared. A bag of
Hallowe'en candy was given to
all the children before they left
for hone.
Belgrave
Mr. and Mrs. William Gow
visited on Sunday with Mrs. Mae
McArthur of Stratford and Mrs.
William Nahrgang of Rostock.
Robert Hibberd attended the
men's club meeting in Fordwieh
United Church last Monday even-
ing, when they entertained the
men of Fullerton A.O.J.S. The
program consisted of a tape of an
address at Keswick Men's con-
ference of Peter White. Lunch
was served at the close of the
meeting.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hibberd
attended the annual banquet of
Blyth R.B.P. 1222 held in the Bel -
grave W. I. Hall on Friday even-
ing. The program consisted of an
'address by R. W. Sir Knight K.
Edgeson, and solos by Clarke
Johnston. The head table guests
were introduced by W. A.
NetheryP.P. and Donald Procter
thanked the Institute ladies for
the meal. The speaker was
thanked by Clare Van Camp.
Thirty-five members and their
wives and friends attended.
Mr. and Mrs. Gary Leitch,
Julia and Jeffery and Maureen
Riley of London spent the week-
end with Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Grasby.
Mr. and Mrs. George Johnston,
Tara and Erica of Ilderton spent
the weekend. with their parents,
Mrs. Laura Johnston and Mr. and
Mrs. Robert. Grasby.
Robert Hibberd together with
Lloyd Herne of Exeter attended
the annual county meeting of
West Bruce L.O.L. in the Under-
wood Orange Hall on Saturday.

Kenneth Wheeler is a patient in
Victoria Hospital, London.
Mr. and Mrs. James Coultes
visited on Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Don Rae and Jamie of
Guelph. Jamie returned home
with his grandparents to spend a
few days.
Mrs. Robert Procter visited
with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Proc-
ter, Karen and Kevin on Satur-
day to help celebratearen's
sixth birthday.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Zettler of
Blyth visited with her mother,
Mrs. Robert Procter, on Sunday.
Saturday evening visitors at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert
Johnston were Rev. Ure and Mrs.
Stewart of Seaforth, Mr. and
Mrs. Donald Vincent of Brighton,
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin McDonald of
Brussels and Mrs. Amelia Brown
of Brookhaven Nursing Home,
Wingham.
Danny Lamont of Goderich
spent the weekend with his
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert
Johnston.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Robertson,
Mrs. Ronald Forster, Lucknow,
and Walter Rorster of Ripley
motored to Winnipeg last week to
attend the funeral of their
brother, Joe Forster, which was
hold last Monday.
We are sorry to hear that Mrs.
Harold Procter, who has been
making her home with her
daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Spivey of Ingersoll, is now a
patient in the Ingersoll Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Nixon and
Jeremy of Wingham visited their
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Les-
lie Bolt, on Sunday. °
Belmore
The McIntosh United Church
Women held a very successful
bazaar recently.
A Hallowe'en dance was held in
the Belmore arena. Music was
supplied by the Moran Brothers.
Jackie Ross won a prize for the
best male costume.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Vanderlip
and Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Van-
derlip visited in the Belmore area
last weekend.

The White Pass and Yukon
Railway's narrow gauge track is
one of the most spectacular in the
world. During the first 20 miles
from Skagway, Al`hska, to White-
horse, Yukon Territory, it climbs
in a series of twists and turns
from sea level to an altitude of
about 3,000 feet.

On Friday this community was
shocked to learn Mrs. George
Fisher of Wingham had been
taken to Wingham hospital and
sent on to University Hospital,
London, having suffered a heart
attack. During the weekend she
was much better.
