SANTA'S COURT—Santa could hardly be seen behind all
the kids as he held court along main street in _Wroxeter
following the parade Saturday. Carey King, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Wayne King, was among those who came to pick
up their bag of goodies and try out Santa's knee.
THE CHOIR from Wroxeter United Church rode one of the
floats in the Wroxeter Santa Claus parade last weekend.

Christmas dinner
GORRIE — The Women's In-
stitute held its Christmas Dinner
Party at noon Dec. 13 at the Blue
Barn Restuarant at Listowel.
Following a delicious dinner Mrs.
Glenn Johnston, president,
opened the short program with' a
poem, then called on Mrs. J,sck
Ferguson to conduct the roll call,
"What Christmas means to me,
and Family Traditions etc."
'Mrs. Johnston then asked the
program convener, Mrs. Glad-
stone Edgar, to take charge. The
guest speaker ,was Mrs. John
Freeman, the Di.,trict Women's
Institute president.
Mrs Freeman congratulated
Gorrie iustilutt un being the
oldest ltistitute in the District and
wished it continued success in its
undertakings. Mrs. Freeman had

Scouting news
This year the 1st Wingham Boy
Scouts consist of one Beaver
colony. one Cub pack and one
Scout troup. Some of the events of
the fall included a successful
Apple Day and Paper Drive. As a
community service project, the
Cubs and Spouts assisted the
Royal Canadian Legion in estab-
lishing its Block Parent Program
by delivering pamphlets -explain-
ing the program to all homes in
Wingham.
Presently, a Bottle Drive is
being planned for Saturday, Jan.
7, 1978. Residents of Wingham
are asked to save their return-
able battles. including beer
bottles and milk jugs. They will
ue pic,%eu up at gyne curb or may
be brought to the Town Hall.
