for UCW meeting
WROXETER — Christrhas was
the theme chosen by the Friend-
ship Unit of the Wroxeter United
Church Women for the December
meeting. The, worship was : con-
ducted by Mrs. Isabel Miller and
Mrs. Margaret Edgar. Advent
hymns, Christmas readings 'and
poems, with scripture taken from
the second chapter of St. Luke's
Gospel, rekindled thoughts of the
birth of Christ.
Members answered the roll call
by presenting gifts which are te
De given to the Family and Chil-
dren's Services in Goderich.
Mrs. Dorothy McGee of the
Harmony Unit took as her topic
"Christmas Around the World".
She displayed figurines and
articles which form the Nativity
scene or "creche" and spoke of a
country in 'which the most im-
portant figure, Babe Jesus, is al-
ways left to be placed in the man-
ger on Christmas Eve. She en-
couraged the members to re-
member the Christ in Christmas
all, year long.
Mrs. Ron McMichael con-
ducted the business session,
during which it was decided to
hold the church garden party on
May 24
The meeting closed with the
benediction and lunch was served
by the members of the Willing
Workers Unit.

FORDWICH — Mr and Mrs,
Jim Warrell won first prize for
the best decorated Christmas
windows in the village in a con-
test sponsored by the Fordwich
Businessmen's Association
Second prize was awarded to
Mr. and Mrs. William Wilson
In the best decorated lawn divi-
sion, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
c'arswell were named winners
with second prize going to' Mr.
and Mrs Lorne Kelly.
