When the WInghm Curling Club was iudged
unsafe and forced to close last spring a com-
mittee was set
ornnn|#eewasswt up to look into the possibilities for.
rebuilding. Because the existing lot was too
small for a full-sized rink alternate sites were
sought.
Three building options were presented,
together wlth a choice of sites, to both the curling
club and golf club rnen?bery- In separate votes'
both clubs selected the golf club location and ap-
proved the amalgamation of the dubs into the
Wingham Golf and Curling Club.
A steering committee comprising Richard
LeVan, Jack Goodall, Bill Hanu|m' Dick
Eskerod, Barry Reid and Roger Keay was
formed to oversee the construction.
Upon completion thenevv facilities will offer a
large club room' and lounge for both golf and
curling functions together with four sheets of
what should bm the finest curling ice in this part
of Ontario. '
