Goderich's popula tion was decreased by 12 but still remains the largest in any municipality in the county with 7,324. Seaforth Lost a total of 21 residents, makix it the smallest town in the Huron with 2,025 people, , The total population in Huron is up however, to 56,032. That's an increase of 568 over 1976 and is an encouraging trend.,. The fastest growing town is Exeter with a population in- crease of 20, bringing the number of citizens there to 3,519. Wing - ham was a close second with a re- corded growth of 19, bringing the total population there to 2,861. Clinton's growth was a respec- tabel 14 with a total population now of 3,124. The Township of Tuckersmith had the largest growth of any ,municipality in Huron in the 1976 to 1977 period at 110. No doubt the .development of Vanastra has had much to do with this growth but it is also interesting to see that Goderich Township grew by 101 during the same period with neighboring Colborne Township growing by 84. t Among the "villages,' Bayfield y experienced the greatest growth at 51. Blyth grew by 43 persons it _ and Hensall ,grew by 29. Mrs. Robert Procter spent a few days with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Ensom of Sarnia. On Thursday. they ' visited with Mr. and Mrs. Larry ,Mayberry and family of Branch off the United Co -opera tives of Ontario held Nov.. 25 at the Women's Institute hall in Bel- grace. After dinner an operations re- port was read by Jim Nelemans. Sales for the Belgrave branch were $2,530,000, an increase of $185,000. The Belgrave branch council elected the following officers: Richard Moore, Morris Hallahan, Peter Chandler, John Baan, Fred Meier, Murray Vincent, and William Coultes. Retiring from last year is John Gaunt. Others to lose ground were Usborne 23; Stanley 48; and McKillop 27. Euchre winners BELGRAVE — Eight tables of euchre were played at the weekly euchre last Wednesday evening. Belgrave Twenty-six friends and neigh- bors gathered at the John Nixon home on Sunday to honor the bap- tism of Jeremy, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Nixon and en- joyed a smorgasbord dinner. • A baptismal service was held in Knox Presbyterian Church, Bel - grave, on Sunday afternoon, when the Rev. Kenneth Innes baptized Jennifer Katherine, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glyn Wide of Mount Hope. Mr. and Mrs. William Coultes and family visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Alan Babensee of Waterloo. Mr. and Mrs. James E.
