The program begins at 8 p.m. in the town hall auditorium. Ginny and Kim appear as reindeer while Jason plays Santa. Committees answer Continued from Front Page they plan to use two large tents. One of these tents will hold the fashion shows, cooking demon- strations and possibly hair styl- ing, while the other would be con- sidered a horticultural tent where flower demonstrations and other shows would be held. The ladies' committee is responsible for purchasing souvenirs and has on hand pens, spoons, frizbies, trays and T-shirts. The committee is also holding a quilt competition which will be judged at the Sea - forth Fall Fair next September, with the winning quilts displayed at the plowing match. The quilts must be of an original design depicting some aspect of the plowing match, and can be made, either on an individual basis or by a group, First prize will be $100. Ralph Foster, reporting for the farmstead and home improve- • ment competition, said close to 80 entries have already been pre- judged in the first three cate- gories of that competition. All the townships and municipalities in .Huron County have 'been ap- proached for financial assistance , and a favorable response has been received from the majority of them. The last two classes in the competition will be judged next August, as well as the final" judging of the other three classes. Anyone wishing to enter the last two classes which are: most at- tractive homestead; and most attractive urban or rural home, can obtain an entry from any of the committee members. Judging for the competition is being carried out by George Gear, former agricultural rep- resentative for Bruce County, now living in Walkerton. An opo discussion followed concerning the need for more public relations work to make people more aware of the number of interesting exhibits available for viewing, including the largest machinery display in Canada. All the members of the various committees exchanged ideas and information at the social hour that followed. Mrs. James Simmons spent the week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Simmons in Guelph. A number attended Mrs. David Gathers' 100th birthday party at the Fordwich Nursing Home on Saturday. Jeffrey Nay is a patient in Wingham and District Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. George Gregg and Geordie of Willowdale were guests„ at the Bunker -Thornton wedding in Gorrie United Church on Saturday and spent the week- end with Mr. and Mrs. Murray Hayden. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Laurel and Shauna and Mrs. Mel Taylor, Brussels, attended the service in Dorchester United Church on Sunday. At this service a window was dedicated in memory of the late Rev. W. J. Taylor. Rev. Tay- lor was Mrs. Edgar Dane's uncle. $552 collected for Bible Soc. GORRIE — Mrs. Clifford Pyke, treasurer of the Gorrie Branch of the Canadian Bible Society, re- ported the canvass netted $552A5. Rev. Alex F. Cowan, Toronto District secretary states that the scriptures are now produced in 16,000 languages. Two of the most recent productions are Today's Arabic Verse and Today's Chin- ese Version which will be serving a large constituancy.
