Peach gladioli, yellow and
'white daisies centred in gold
candelabra, decorated Blyth
United church for the wedding of
Maureen Elizabeth McCrea and
Bradley Robert Montgomery of
Wingham. The double -ring cere-
mony was held at 7 p.m. Septem-
ber 2, with. Rev. C. Wittich offi-
ciating. Mrs. Shirley Vincent pre-
sided at the console of the church
organ and, while the register was
signed, played the bride's
favorite song, "We've Only Just -
Begun". The bride is the only
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph
McCrea of Blyth and the bride-
groom is the eldest son of Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Montgomery of
Wingham. Mr. Montgomery has
since deceased.
Given in marriage by her par-
ents, the bride chose a gown of
polyester knit featuring an em-
pire waist with sheer yoke
trimmed with lace flowers and
pearls and a stand up collar of
matching lace and pearls. A short
chapel train extended from the
sheer yoke at the back of her
gown. A Juliet capulet held her
shoulder -length, three -tiered veil
of silk illusion, with one tier being
trimmed with . the same lace
flowers as her gown. She carried
a cascading bouquet of peach
roses, white and yellow daisies
with powder blue stephanotis.
The bride wore a silver pendant
with miniature wedding band and
diamond ring, the gift of the
bridegroom.
The maid of honor, . Miss
Donelda Lamont of Belgrave,
cousin of the bride, chose a pow-
der blue polyester knit gown, fea-
turing an empire waistline,
pleated bodice and capelike
sleeves, extending to the waist-
line at the back. She carried a
nosegay of peach roses, yellow
and white daisies. She also wore a
yellow and white daisy with
peach ribbon in her hair. In
identical ensembles were the
bridesmaids, Mrs. Trudy Whar-
ton of Thamesford and Miss
Corrie Montgomery of Wingham,
sisters of the bridegroom. Miss
Tabatha Montgomery, daughter
of a bridegroom, was the flower
girl wearing a replica of the
bride's gown, and a white silk
floral and pearl headband. She
carried a miniature nosegay of
peach roses, yellow and white
daisies. The attendants wore sil-
ver bridesmaid pendants, gifts
from the bride,
The best man was Gordon
Gray, RR 5, Wingham, friend of
the bridegroom. Ushers were
Stuart Montgomery, Wingham,
brother of the bridegroom, and
Dale Lamont, Belgrave, cousin of
the bride. The bridegroom and
his attendants were attired in
powder blue tuxedos featuring
navy blue trousers and navy
lapels on the jackets. The bride-
groom's boutonniere was a peach
rose and stephanotis, the other
attendants wore peach rose
boutonnieres. The bridegroom
wore a quartz digital watch, a gift
from the bride. The attendants
received leather wallets from the
bridegroom.
The bride's mother chose a
polyester knit gown in mint green
with matching jacket featuring
handkerchief sleeves. The neck-
line and jacket edge were
trimmed with peach and green
lace and a corsage of yellow roses
completed her ensemble.
The bridegroom's mother
chose a polyester knit gown in
peach featuring a V neckline,
gathered bodice, to a beaded
panel at the waistline, and sheer
angel sleeves. A corsage of
yellow' roses and white carna-
tions completed her ensemble.
Following the .ceremony a re-
ception was held at the Blyth and
District Community Centre.
For a trip north to Riley Lake,
the bride donned a beige and light
brown striped jumpsuit and a
corsage of Saunna roses. The
bridegroom changed to a denim
leisure suit.
Maureen and .Brad will be
living in Wingham at 304 Leopold
Street.
Thanksgiving is
topic of speaker
The meaning of Thanksgiving
was the theme of a speech given
by Rev. Wilena Brown of Blue -
vale at the Women's Missionary
Society meeting at St. Andrew's
Presbyterian Church, Wingham
Oct. 4.
Mrs. Robert Armstrong intro-
duced the guest speaker and Mrs.
G. Francis thanked her.
The thank -offering meeting
was opened by Mrs. G. Wall with
a reading and prayer. "Sowing in
the Morning" was sung by the
women as Mrs. J. Conn presided
at the piano for the meeting.
Secretary Mrs. W. Ford gave
the minutes of the last meeting,
correspondence and roll call.
Mrs. J. McKague gave the treas-
urer's report.
Mrs. W. Congram ..read the
scripture, Genesis 8:20 and she
also gave the meditation. This
was taken from the scripture and

now, were Thanksgiving guests
with Mr. and Mrs. Nick Baclay of
Lambeth. Mrs. Baclay was the
former Brenda Ritchie.
"We've a Story to Tell the Na-
tions" was sung after which Mr's.
Frank RoSs led in prayer and
Mrs. lion Robertson gave a piano
solo. The offering was received
by Mrs. McKague and Mrs. D.
Ritchie and dedicated by Mrs. G.
Elliott.
The closing hymn, "We Have
Heard a Joyful Sound" was sung
and the closing prayer was led by
Mrs. H. Aitchison. A social hour
followed.
Yellow and white theme
for Ensom-Procter rites
A summery yellow and white
theme predoa;.inated for the ex-
changing of marriage vows be-
tween Marjorie Procter and
Dennis Ensom of Sarnia when
they chose the afternoon of Satur-
day, August 27, as their wedding
day. Trinity Anglican Church,
Belgra.ve, was brightened with
yellow gladioli and white daisies
for the occasion. Rev. Charles
Speakman officiated and Mrs.
Ron Hill was organist. Miss
Wenda Lowrie sang "Oh, My
Love", "Annie's Song" and
"Evergreen".
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Robert Procter of Belgrave
and the late Mr. Procter. The
groom is the son of Mrs. Fred
Ensom of Sarnia and the late Mr.
Ensom.
Given in marriage by her
mother and brother Frank, the
bride chose a floor -length sleeve-
less gown of white eyelet with a
yellow sash at the waistline.
Hemline flounces enhanced the
skirt and an elbow -length cape
flattered the bodice of the gown.
Her eyelet hat and veil matched
her dress and she wore white
gloves. She carried a loose sheaf
of yellow roses, white carnations
and daisies.
Floor -length yellow gowns
were worn by her attendants,
Wanda Grant of Burlington who
was maid of honor and brides-
maids Mrs. Sandra Mayberry of
Londesboro and Miss Maxine
Procter, Belgrave, both sisters of
the bride. Their sleeveless dress -

es featured back elbow -length
capes.
Three nieces of the bride,
Marilyn and Kimberly Mayberry
of Londesboro and Karen Proct-
er, RR 5, Brussels, were flower
girls. They wore white eyelet
dresses' with yellow sashes. They
carried wicker baskets contain-
ing daisies.
Fred Ensom of Vancouver was
his brother's best man. Guests
were ushered by Dwayne Black
and John O'Rae, both of Sarnia.
Following the wedding a recep-
tion was held at the Blyth Com-
munity Centre where guests were
received by the mothers of the
bridal couple. The bride's mother
chose a floor -length gown of yel-
low and coral floral print with
long cuffed sleeves and collar.
Her corsage was yellow Swee--
heart . roses. A two-piece gold -
flecked suit with rolled collar and
long sleeves was` chosen by the
groom's mother. A corsage of
orange Sweetheart roses com-
pleted her ensemble.
For travelling to Europe where
they intended to visit Amster-
dam, Copenhagen and London,
the bride chose an off-white raw
silk suit with rust, accessories.
They will reside in Sarnia.
The bride is a flight attendant
with Great Lake Airlines.
Out-of-town guests were from
Vancouver, Minesing, Ontario, as
well as Downsview, Hamilton,
Stoney Creek, Kitchener and
Toronto.
