John and Claude Cartwright of Londesboro and Peter Kuntz of Kitchener spent the weekend with their grandmother, Mrs. Mae Rinn. Weekend visitors with Mrs. Mae Rinn and Lois were Mr. and Mrs. Keith Cartwright•of London, Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Kuntz of Kitchener, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Cartwright of Londesboro. Rev. Charles and Mrs. Speak- man of Menising and Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Smithson of Downs- view were last weekend „ ' with their sister Mr. Procter. Labor Day week visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grasay were Mr. and Mrs. Gary Leitch, Julie and Jeffery of London, Mr. and Mrs. George R. M. Johnston and Tara of llderton. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Edgar of Teeswater and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Johnston ofBlyth were Friday evening visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Stonehouse. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan McBurney of Toronto, Mrs. Helen McBur- ney, Mrs. Lois Warwick of Wing - ham, Mr. and Mrs. George R. M. Johnston and Tara of Merton visited on Sunday afternoon with Mrs. Laura Johnston. Mrs. George Martin attended the funeral of her sister-in-law Mrs. Clarence Martin of Seaforth last Tuesday at the Box Funeral Home in Seaforth. Bodmin Ltd. entered in a strong Shorthorn show at Toronto Exhibition last week. They won second prize for yearling bull class. Shorthorn cattle were ex- hibited from many herds in On- tario as well as cattle from herds in Manitoba and Quebec. Doreen Anderson, Janice Dun- bar and Kathy Galbraith have left, to attend University of West- ern Ontario. Doreen will be studying music, Janice is taking a science course and Kathy is going into nursing. Mr. and Mrs. James McCrea of Mississauga spent Labor Day weekend with Mrs. Lawrence Vannon. Mr. and Mrs. Don Vincent and Patrick of Riverview, New Brunswick are spending a few days with their parents Mr. and, Mrs. Harold Vincernt and Mr. and Mrs. George Webster and other relatives. Brenda Johnston has accepted a position as tea her in Hepworth Public School. She will be teach- ing music to Grades 6, 7, and 8 and will teach the Grade 6 class. She is residing in Owen Sound. Friends and neighbours of Albert Bieman are sorry to hear he is a patient in Wingham and District Hospital suffering from a heart attack. We wish him a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Desmond Gur- nett, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Gur- nett of Ottawa spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. Athol Bruce and attended the summer games of basketball at Kitchener on the weekend. Sandra Gurnett played basketball with the eastern r - gion and their team won the gold medal. This community wishes to ex- tend its sincere sympathy to Mr. and Mrs'. James R. Coultes and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wheeler in the loss of their father Mr. C. R. Coultes. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Scott of To- ronto were recent visitors among relatives of this area. TH,EY'RE OFF!—Brett Cameron and Sean Bray get a fly- ing start from pushers Mark Foxton and Robbie Willis during an impromptu soaptlox race on Centre Street last week. Serving in various official capacities, including running and cheering, were Duane Jenkins, Rance Willis, Monique Cameron, Murray Foxton, Pat Bray and Tim Brown.
