T11e death occurred in Uni-
versity ITospital, London, on
Saturday, September 3, of Mrs.
Gordon Walker of 256 Frances
Street, Wit4itham. Mrs. Walker,
wasin her 77th year and death
followed a brief illness.
The former Leta Merle Hig-
gins, she was born in Turnberry
Township to the late Elijah Hig-
gins and Frances McMichael.
She later moved with her family
to Morris Township where she at-
tended Stone School. Still later,
she moved to Wingham where
she worked as an operator for
Bell Telephone Company.
On June 18, 1924, she married
Mr. Walker and they farmed in
Turnberry Township the early
years of their marriage. They
later - moved to Morris Township
where they farmed before retir-
ing to Wingham in 1951. During
the years which followed, Mrs.
Walker worked as a part-time re-
ceptionist at the Wingham and
Akin Campbell
killed in accident
Alan C. Campbell, 23, of RR 1,
Kincardine died at midnight,
Aug. 31, when his car rolled
following an accident on Highway
86, two miles east of Amberley.
Mr. Campbell was a son of Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Campbell of RR
1, Kincardine, formerly of Ford-
wich.
in a collision with one driven by
Huron Township Reeve Michael
Snobelen, 29, of Ripley. Mr..
Snobelen and his three . pas-
sengers were treated at Kincar-
dine hospital for minor injuries.
Mr. Campbell is survived by
ds parents and two brothers,
Robert Jr. and Kerry.
The body. rested at the funeral
home in Kincardine until burial
on Saturday.
Mrs. F. Wright
dies in hosp.
• Mrs. Margaret Etta Wright:of
Gorrie passed away September "3
at the Wingham and District Hos-
pital at the age of 92.
Born May 23, 1885, in Howick
Township, she was predeceased
by her husband Frank in 1960;
one infant son; six sisters and
three brothers. She is survived by
two sons, Ken of Gorrie and
Harvey, Mildmay; nine grand-
children; 18 great-grandchil-
dren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held Tues-
day at two o'clock at the David-
son Funeral Horne, Gorrie, with
Rev. Wes Ball officiating. Inter-
ment followed in ,Gorrie Ceme-
tery.
Pallbearers were Murray
Wright, Owen Wright, Howard
Wright, Walter Demerling, Alan
McRae and Harvey Wheeler.
Floral tributes were carried by
Andy and David Demerling, Bob
and Barry Wright.
District Hospital.
Surviving, besides her hus-
band, are one daughter, Mrs.
Tom (Frances) Hunter of
Orangeville and one son, Ray-
mond, Wingham; six grandchil-
dren and one brother, Gordon
Higgins of RR. 5, Brussels. She
was predeceased by one daugh-
ter, Lois Eleanor Hoy; two
sisters, Mrs. Effie Fitch and Ml's..
Lou Warwick; and two brothers,
Nelson Higgins and Robert Hig-
gins.
The.late Mrs. Walker rested at
the S. J. Walker Funeral Home,
Wingham, where service was
conducted Tuesday at two o'clock
by Rev. Barry Passmore of the
Wingham United Church where
deceased was a member. Inter-
ment followed in Wingham
Cemetery.,

Jack Higgins,. Alvin Higgins,
Charlie Higgins, Jack Warwick
and Ross Jamieson; Four grand-
children carried flowers to the
graveside, Andrea' Walker,
Angela Walker, Joey Walker and
Paul Hunter.
Former Morris
councillor dies
A former Morris Township
councillor, Charles Russel Coult-
es of Belgrave, died at the age of
81 at Huronview Aug. 30, after a
short illness.
Also a manager of the Co-op
cum d acuuu► tau' executive, ivir.
Coultes was predeceased by his
wife, the former Mary McGowan
of East Wawanosh in 1968. They
had been , married in East
Wawanosh, Oct. 22, 1919.
He was born in East Wawa -
nosh, the •son of George W.
Coultes and the former Elizabeth
Anderson, both deceased.
. Mr. Coultes is survived • by a
daughter, Mrs. Ken (Mabel )
Wheeler, Belgrave; son James
Coultes of Morris 'Township;
sister, Mrs. Len (Mary) Jarvis of
St. Cathattines; twograndchil-
dren and ' two great-grandchil-
dren.
He was also predeceased by
brothers Wesley, James and Al-
bert and two grandchildren_
Mr. Coultes was a farmer and a
drover in early life and continued
as a drover into later life, retiring
in 1910. He ,&'as a member of
Knox United Church, Belgrave
and the Royal Canadian Legion
180, Belgrave LUL He was a war
veteran of the 161 Battalion -.from
1916 to 1918 and ' was wounded at
Vimy Ridge.
Funeral service was held Sept.
1 from the Knox United Church at
2 p.rn. with Rev. John Roberts'
presiding. Mr: Coultes had rested
previously at the S. J. Walker.
Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were 'Don Rae,
Robert Charter, Vince Makas,
Ronald Coultes, Clifford Coultes
• and Ross Anderson. Flower
bearers were Simon Hallahan
and William Gow.
Burial was in Wingham ceme-
tery.
Mr. and Mrso Thomas Black
married in Saskatchewan
Connie Ellta Kuc, formerly of
Rose Valley, Saskatchewan, and
more recently of Belgrave, and
Thomas William Black, RR 1,
Belgrave, were united in mar-
riage in a double -ring ceremony
at the \ United Church, Rose
Valley, Saskatchewan, on June 25
at five u clock by Rev R. Gibson,
Wadena, Saskatchewan.
The bride was escorted down
the aisle by her parents, Ellta
and Michael Kuc of Rose Valley,
who gave her in marriage. The
groom was given in marriage by
his parents, Florence .and ,Wil-
liam Black of Belgrawe.'
The.' bride wore a 'traditional
wedding gown of polyester chif-
fon over silk. featuring a full
skirt. Her cathedral length veil
featured a Juliet cap. The dress
and veil were trimmed with
Valencia lace andminiature seed
pearls. Her nosegav bridal bou-
quet was of pink Romance roses,
gardenias; fern and Scottish'
heather.
Connie was attended by matron
of honor, Phyllis Ralph , of
Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and
maid of honor Kathy Kuc,
Saskatoon, both sisters of the
bride: bridesmaid Joan Riley,
sister of the groom, of Dungan-
non; junior bridesmaid Villetta
Swahn, niece of the bride, of Rose
Valley; and flower girl Jodie
Riley, niece of the groom, of
Dungannon.
The bridesmaids wore blue
floor -length dresses with hand-
kerchief sleeves and overskirts of
blue floral chiffon. They carried
pink carnations,' forget-me-nots
and blue delphiniums.. The flower
girl . wore a matching blue
polyester dress trimmed with
lace and a matching bonnet. She
carried a flower -filled parasol.
The. groom, in a navy blue
tuxedo and white ruffled shirt,
wore a pink' Romance rose
trimmed with heather from the
bride's bouquet. He was attended
byhisbroehe" Murray Black, as
best man. Ushers
were another
brother, Keith Black, and a
friend Ron Cook. Both are from
Belgrave. Michael B.jerland,
nephew of the bride, of Rose
' Valley was junior best man and
Richard Ralph, nephew .• of the
bride, of Dartmouth, .Nova
Scotia, was ringbearer.. The
groom's attendants wore navy
blue tuxedos, blue ruffled shirts
and pink carnation boutonnieres.
The wedding music was pro-
vided by Dane Yaholnitski and.
Mrs:• Jean Reed • sang the
selections, "We've 'Only Just
Begun" and "He", •
For the ceremony, the bride's
mother' wore a mint green gown
and carried a pearl purse accent-
ed with gardenias and violets.

Austrian -Ukrainian dinner was
served by the Rose Valley
Ukrainian Catholic ladies. The
wedding cake was beautifully
decorated by the bride's aunt,
Mrs. Mary Pylatuik, and the cake
top was of pink delphiniums, blue
