BILINGUAL PLAQUE—A new plaque appearedoutside the entrance to Wingham town
hall last week. It, like the one which had beers hangingthere, honors local artist George
Reid. This one, however, is much larger and the inscription is in both'English and French.
Approached about a bilingual plaque earlier this summer, town council decided it was un-
necessary, but apparently signals got crossed between here and the appropriate ministry
as workmen showed up and began installing the sign. The town will get to keep the old
plaque, Mayor William Walden said, and it will be placed with the Reid exhibits in the
Wingham Museum.
