Family, fends mourn

sorrow, family members and
friends watched as Mrs.
William G. Bain of 358
Centre Street, Wingham,
suffered and succumbed to a
serious illness. Her final
release came Wednesday,
June 20, at Wingham and
District Hospital, two
months after the death of her
life partner to whom she had
been married since January
5,1932.
Mrs. Bain, the former Eva
Kathleen Swanson, was a
daughter of the late Charles
Swanson and Jane Gannett
and was born December 21,
1908, in Wingham. She at-
tended Wingham Public
School and Wingham High
School. A member of St.
Andrew's Presbyterian
Church, she was also active
in community groups,
belonging to the Majestic
Rebekah Lodge No. 352,
Wingham, and the Mary
Hastings Club. She was also
a member of St. Andrew's
Ladies' Aid.
Left to mourn her passing
are one daughter, Mrs. Ken
(Jean) Horton, RR 1, Clif-
ford; two sons, William of
Wingham and Jim of
Lucknow; eight grand-
children and four great-
grandchildren. There is one
sister, Mrs. Agnes Steward
of London, and one brother,
Morris Swanson of
Wingham.
Rev. Paul L. Mills con-
ducted funeral service at two
o'clock on Saturday at The
Currie -Walker Funeral
