countries for 15 years;
Dr. Fretz donates two
weeks each year to test eyes
and prescribe glasses for
these people. Her work has
taken her to Nicaragua and
Ecuador. The MGM goes
into these countries by in-
vitation only and its purpose
is to show the love of God in a
demonstrable way.
The team of 120 workers
puts in long hours and in
eight days this past January
members saw 10,040
patients, dispensed 8,600
pairs of glasses and per-
formed 357 operations.
Many of the conditions
seen in these countries are
not encountered here
because of our ready access
to optometric services. Dr.
Fretz made a very im-
pressive presentation and
the ladies realized how very
fortunate, in many ways, we
are in this country.
Mrs. Raymond Neill
thanked the speaker and
presented her with used
eyeglasses for her work.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Vair
ministered in song with Mr.
Vair providing the piano
accompaniment. They sang
"Count Your Blessings" and
"Haven of Rest".
The committee then
presented a short program.

Mrs. Harry Bateman and
Mrs. John Norman read
from Proverbs. Mrs. John
Kerr read a meditation on
"The Virtuous Woman".
Mrs. Neill led in prayer and
Miss Marr tested the ladies'
knowledge of the Book of
Proverbs with a quiz.
The meeting then was
turned over to the executive.
A special offering was taken
to defray expenses for the
speaker at the upcoming,
September potluck dinner.
Refreshments and a social
time followed.
