McCutcheon
shower held at
Anglican church
BRUSSELS — A group of
130 friends gathered at St.
John's Anglican Church last
Wednesday evening to honor
Michelle McCutcheon on her
forthcoming marriage to
Bruce Blake.
The St. John's choir sang
three selections, ac-
companied by Miss Mc-
Cutcheon at the ,piano. She
has beenorganist at the
church for seven years.
Jennifer McDonald and
Tracey Finch, both mem-
bers of the Brussels Scarlets,
entertained with baton solos
• and Susan Meyers delivered
a humorous reading, "The' .
Wedding".
Because of the bride's .
great involvement with
music, it seemed only fitting
that her address would be
sung., Mary Jane Pearson,
Jennifer Lyons and Bev
Cardiff sang the. address
much to the delight of those
present.
Miss-McCutcheon • was
assisted in ': opening the
numerous lovely gifts by her
mother, Ester, Mrs. Blake,
the bride-to-be's sisters, Jill -
and Lori, Bruce's sister,
Julie and her friend Leanne
Quipp.
The bride-to-be donned:
colorful '"•:apron lsefgi a ;..
thanking everyone' and
extending 'an invitation to.
view the gifts at her parents'
home. Lunch was served and .
a social time concluc d an
enjoyable evening.
Waneeta Jacobs
is honored at a
bridal shower
BRUSSELS — A miscel-
laneous shower was heidlast
Tuesday evening in the
Brussels Library for
Waneeta Jacobs. Mrs. Lula
Kerr played some lively
piano selections while the
guests were arriving,
Approximately 75 ladies
were present when Kelly
Stephenson introduced the
bride-to-be, her mother Joan
and her sister Hope. The
groom's mother and the
maid of honor, Jennie
Hopper, also were in-
troduced.
Nelle Blake read a story
and a contest was conducted
by Kim and Kelly
Stephenson. A hilarious skit
on what the bride, her
mother and the mother of the
groom should wear was
enjoyed by all. Mrs. Blake
told about the costumes
while Ester McCutcheon
played the bride, Edith Pipe
was the mother-in-law and
Edna Pearson was the
mother.
Miss Jacobs then opened
her gifts and thanked
everyone. The evening
closed with everyone en-
joying sandwiches and a
drink.
