A' native of Howick
Township, born there on July
13, 1896; Mrs. Arnold
Halliday of Wingham passed
away Thursday, May 24, at
Wingham and District
Hospital.
The -former Janet Agnes
Earl, Mrs,, Halliday was a
-daughter of .the late Robert
Earl and Mary Walker. She
was predeceased by two
brothers and five sisters and
is survived by one brother,
Leslie Earl of Atwood, and
one sister, Mrs. Harry
(Emmeline) Gowdy of
Harriston.
141rs. Halliday received her
elementary education at SS
No. 10, Howick. On June 18,
1919, she married Mr.
Halliday and they farmed on
the B Line of Howick until
1949 when they retired and
built a new home at 304
Minnie Street, Wingham.
She was bereaved by the
death of her life partner in
1971 and in 1978 went to
Wilkinson Apartments. She
has resided at Wingham's
Copeland Lodge for the last
four years.
Mrs. Halliday was a
member of the Wingham
United Church and the
United Church Women. She

Platt passed away in Toronto
East General Hospital on
Wednesday, May 16, in her
92nd year. She was a, valued
member of Queen Street
East Presbyterian Church.
Born in Wingham on May
8, 1893, she was the daughter
of. the late John Goy and
Harriet (Winters) Goy. She
was predeceased by her
husband, Percy Platt, her
daughter, Annie Platt, her
son, Frederick Platt, and one
sister, Mrs. John (Mabel)
Moir.
Surviving are two sisters
and a brother, Mrs. Charles
(Dora) James of Cambridge,
Mrs. Archie (Georgina)
MacDonald and Rennie Goy,
both of Wingham.
