After setting out from the Zehrs parking lot, the riders went through r town and down the B-line to the end of the pavement before return- ing. In all, they raised $1,544.52 for the Cancer Society. Stuart Henry dies in hosp., was veteran of World War 11 A man who served his country well and paid a price for that service, Stuart Charles Henry of 390 Shuter Street, Wingham, passed away Monday, April 23, at University Hospital, London. He' was in nis 69th year and death followed a brief illness. A hative of Grey Town- ship, Mr. Henry was born March 9, 1916, a son of the late Arthur Henry and Olive Lake. From August 1940 ' until March 1945, he served overseas and it was while he was • in active service for his country that he was wounded and lost his sight. Back in Wingham, he worked with • the kitchen staff at Wingham and District Hospital from 1957 until 1970. Mr. Henry and his leader dog were a familiar sight on the streets of Wingham. He was a member of the Salvation Army, the Wingham Lions Club, War Amps of Canada, Sir Arthur Pearson Association of War Blind, the Bluewater Region Amateur Radio Operatdrs and the Canadian National Institute For the Blind. The former Cecelia Ivadel Crowston, she was the beloved wife of Ivan Laidlaw; dear mother of Janet and Kimberley, both at home; daughter of Mrs. Clara Crowston of. Lucknow; sister of Marlow Crowston of Kincardine, Earl (Bud) Crowston of Lytton, B.C., Clarence Crowston of Chatham, Mrs. Clayton (Lois) Alton of Ashfield Township and Mrs. Orland (Myrtle) Irwin, RR 3, Wingham. She was predeceased by her father, John Crowston.
