through the honeymoon by having a good haircut in
advance, and packing a lightweight little hair dryer,
How to look heavenly
on your honeymoon
Don't let honeymoon
travel, excitement, sun and
lack of sleep play havoc with
your glowing bridal beauty.
Here are some tips that
can help you retain your
radiant look all during the
honeymoon:
Sunburn is the classic
honeymoon horror. Take
along a sunscreen that's
even stronger than you
normally use, and if you're
in a tropical climate stay out
of the midday sun alto-
gether.
Once your skin gets a rosy
glow, you probably won't
need any make-up at all for
daytime. If you'll be swim-
ming and want to use mas-
cara, be sure to choose a
water-resistant type.
For fun on gala evenings,
go glamorous with eye
make-up. Just a little will
make a big change if your
normal look is natural. Try
smokey blue or plum shadow
blended up and out from the
lid onto the browbone, and a
spot of highlighter on the
inner corners and under the
brow. If you like, draw a line
in a darker shade right at the
lashes; add mascara.
Have a good haircut two
weeks before the wedding so
that your hair dries right into
shape, and pack "a light-
weight little hair dryer.
Get enough sleep to avoid
dark circles under your eyes.
If circles do appear, dab on a
little cover -stick or cream,
dot a drop of foundation over
it, and blend with a sponge.
Lifestyles may change and
etiquette to some about-to-
be•tnarried couples may
stray far from the pages of
the volumes dedicated to
proper social graces. But
The Wedding Day, the hope-
ful wishes, the importance of
the marriage vows still
remain special to pro-
spective wedding couples.
The excitement ripe with
meaning. Every purchase
becomes symbolic of the
couple's commitment to
each other.
`STANDARD OF
EXCELLENCE
Buying, then, for this
enraptured couple should be
predicated on wedding gift
choices that evoke quality,
fine styling and lasting
beauty — a standard of
excellence synonymous of
course, with sterling silver.
The more the couple under-
stands about silver, silver -
plate, stainless steel and
pewter, the, greater their in-
sight into what's trendy and
what has enduring style.
Sterling silver, though
somewhat price prohibitive
in the bridal market during
the last several years, is now
experiencing a revitalized
surge in sales. And, as the
Silversmiths Guild of
America publication on
sterling states, "don't apolo-
gize for the price of
sterling." Some reasons — it
is an excellent investment, a
permanent purchase becom-
ing more beautiful with time
and use.
As the queen of the table,
its rich patina basks in heri-
tage. and tradition. Like a
fine painting or rare jewel, it
will become a treasured

The balance, styling and
comfortable feel of sterling
flatware are proof -positive
of itsetimeless value. Yes, it
requires proper care, but
then doesn't anything that is
worthwhile?
FIRST THINGS FIRST
As flatware is the,most
permanent part of thtable
setting, it should be chosen
before holloware pieces or
china and crystal. And, prior
to pattern choosing, a fix on
the couple's lifestyle is im-
portant information with
which to work.
With so many men ac-
companying their future
wives to the bridal registry,
his likes and dislikes areas
vital to ascertain as hers. Of
course, if her mother is part
of the registering team,
another dimension is added!
Still, it is the couple's taste
that is the ultimate deciding
factor.
Expense needn't preclude
buying sterling flatware.
Two place -settings from
parents is a fine start. Birth-
days, anniversaries and
other important occasions
become opportunities for
building the 'service.
ANOTHER
ALTERNATIVE
Couples can also register
for additional place -settings
or serving pieces to complete
a service that they may have
inherited. A pattern such as
Gorham Chantilly, for in-
stance, has been available
since 1895 and is still coveted
today -- the pattern itself
has become a tradition in
countless fan iUes.
Friends and relatives find
ing a sterling pattern reg-
istered will be pleased to be
guided toward . purchasing
even one sterling piece such
as a sugar spoon, gravy ladle
or butter spreader. Sterling
is always welcomed. The
expense, then, need not be
great — the selection of any
sterling item makes that gift
a special one.
THE SILVERPLATE
OPTION
Another option for the
couple is silverplate. Surely,
the look of sterling is there,
the balance, the elegance.
Quality silverplated flatware
with its size, weight and
crisp ornamentation, all
manufactured to sterling
standards, give a table a
splendid look.
While not having the in-
vestment value or heritage
of sterling flatware, silver -
plate is beauty and luxury in
itself, and should not in any
case be labeled "second-
rate."
Over the last several
years, much attention has
been directed toward quality
stainless steel flatware and
with good reason. Quality
stainless has excellent
balance and weight, handle
decoration front and back,
contemporary as well as
traditional design choices
and superior surface finish;
it is an attractive addition to
a well-dressed table.

STAINLESS
Easy care, durability,
lasting beauty and, of
course, affordability make
stainless flatware a natural
for the newlyweds. A
stainless flatware starter set
is an ideal wedding gift
package! The newlyweds
can begin entertaining in
style with a minimum in-
vestment to the purchaser.
The same is true of silver-
plated holloware. Perhaps
sterling salt and pepper
shakers or napkin rings are
affordable but larger
sterling pieces are very
expensive. However, silver-
plated tra:,s, bowls, wire
baskets, candlesticks,
dishes, sugar bowls and
creamers, pitchers are mar-
velous gifts and coordinates
for flatware of all kind and
are reasonably priced.
THE PERSONAL
TOUCH
Also appropriate are fine
lines of personal gifts in
silver, silverplate and
pewter. It is amid the hustle
and bustle of last minute
arrangements that gifts for
attendants and bridesmaids
are usually purchased. Why
not have the couple select
these when registering?
The variety of such gifts is
enormous. Sterling items
such as money clips, letter
openers, pill boxes and jewel
boxes are marvelous as well.
Or, what about a silverplated
purse mirror or a pewter
frame?

A NEW TREND;
A RELAXING TIME
During the past few years,
we have found that new
trends are becoming more
popular. One of the most
excit. e –_ - i .--
the idea of taking all the
wedding photographs prior
to the ceremony. With pro-
per planning its is a most
enjoyable and relaxing time
for all concerned. Your wed-
• ding party, parents and im-
mediate families can cele-
brate in private with you be-
fore the ceremony and re-
ception begin. Many times
the bride's mother .has ar-
ranged for refreshments and,
light snacks during this time.
Your photography session is
not rushed and you have a
chance to share your special
day with those closest to you.
After the ceremony you
can immediately be with the
guests to greet them or just
to mingle and chat, rather
than the usual 1 to 11/2 hour
waiting for the photographs
to be taken. Many guests
have often commented, "I'm
glad you don't have to rush
away for photographs!"
Whether you choose to
have all the photographs
taken prior to the ceremony
or traditionally before and
after the ceremony, remem-
ber, to insure a calm leisure-
ly session it is important that
everyone involved in the
photographs be ready at the
appointed time and place.
These photographs will por-
tray how you and everyone
around you looked and felt
that day.
Engage only a .professional
photographer ... and do it
early. In later years, your
wedding photographs will be
the prime means by which
you will be able to recall the
beauty and sentiment of your

soon to learn
how to save
Today you see more and
more people shopping in the
supermarkets with a wad of
redeemable coupons.
Shopping with,coupons has
gone beyond saving a few
cents..Rising supermarket
prices have made it a neces-
sity, but. have you ever won-
dered how profitable it can
be?
You may be a casual cou-
pon clipper but, for many
people, refunding has be-
come a profitable home busi-
ness which they run from the
kitchen table.
Top refunders can save up
to 90 per cent of their grocery
bill each month. If their gro-
cery bill is $500 each month
and they receive $450 in re-
funds, they are receiving
$450 clear.
Being a supershopper
means knowing how to get
the coupons we're all so
familiar with mailed to your
door. It also means knowing
how to get information on
loads of manufacturers' re- .
fund offers which we're not
so familiar with.
