Family Members , and
residents of the community
were deeply shocked and
grieved last week with the
passing of Gary Wayne
Rintoul of RR 2, Lucknow, on
Thursday, April 19. Gary
passed. away suddenly at
Wingham and .District
Hospital in his 41st year.
Born in Wingham, Gary
was a son of Gordon Rintoul
and his wife, the former
Doreen Purdon, of RR 3,
Wingham. He was barn
November 9, 1943. After
attending SS No. 10, Kinloss,
he was a student at Wingham
District High School; and_
after leaving school he
worked as a truck driver. Re
teak up farming in MO and
was actively- involved in
farming at the time of his
death. He was a member of
the Presbyterian Church and
the Canadian Charolais
Association.
Many people mourn
Gary's passing and will miss
him. Those feeling' the loss
most' keenly, besides his
parents, are his wife, the
former Barbara Corey, to
whom he was married June
12, 1976; his two young

GAUNT -Passed away
Friday, April 20, at Vic-
toria Hospital, London,
Mrs. Harold Gaunt of West
Wawanosh Township, in
her 67th year. The former
Annie Jean Watson, Mrs.
Gaunt is survived by her
husband; two daughters,
Mrs. Glen (Beverley)
MacDonald of Woodstock
and Janice of London;. one
son Doug of West
Wawanosh; and three
grandchildren. She was
predeceased by one son in
infancy. The late Mrs.
Gaunt rested at the
MacKenzie and McCreath
Funeral Home, Lucknow,
where friends paid their
respects until Monday
when removal was made
to St. Peter's Anglican
Church, Lucknow, for
service at two o'clock.
Final resting place will be
South Kinloss Cemetery.
As expressions of sym-
pathy, the family would
appreciate donations to be
directed to the building
fund of the Wingham and
District Hospital. At the
time of her death, Mrs.
Gaunt served on the hos-
pital board, representing
West Wawanosh and Ash-
field Townships.

Cecil Frederick Grainger of

clergyman and interment
followed in Gorrie Cemetery.
Mr. Grainger passed away
Wednesday, April 18, at
Listowel Memorial Hospital
following a lengthy illness.
He was in his 77th year and
was a native of Howick
Township.

Mrs. Robt. Montgomery
dies after brief illness
Members of ' the Mont-
gomery family are this week
mourning the death of their
mother, Mrs. Robert Mont-
gomery, of 325 Centre Street,
Wingham, who passed away
Thursday, April 19, at the
Wingham and District Hos-
pital. She was in her 89t
year and death follow
brief illness.
Mrs. Montgomery was one
of four children and the only
daughter born to the latr
John Elliott and Isabelia
Keith. The former Mary
Alice Elliott, she was born in
East Wawanosh Township on
June 17, 1895. She was
predeceased by her three
brothers, William, Raymond
and Stanley Elliott. She
received her elementary
education at -SS No. 9, East
Wawanosh, and was a music
teacher for sometime.
On May 23, 1928, she
married Mr. Montgomery in
Wingham. She was bereaved
by his passing in 1977. She is
survived by three daughters,
Mrs. Anson (Wilda) Ruttan
of Fordwich, Mrs. John
(Treva) Jamieson, RR 3,
Wingham, and Mrs. Don
(Melva) Fraser, RR 2,
Blyth; one son, Keith Mont-
gomery of Wingham; 12
grandchildren and 10 great
grandchildren.
Funeral service was held
Monday at The Currie -
Walker Funeral Home,

conducted by Rev. J; Rea.
Grant of Wingham United
Church where Mrs. Mont-
gomery had been a member.
Final resting place will be
Wingham Cemetery.
Mrs. Montgomery's grand-
sons served as her pallbear-
ers and flower bearers.
Pallbearers were Jack Rut -
tan, Gary Jamieson, Brian
Jamieson, Randy Fraser,
Stephen Montgomery and
Michael Montgomery. Car-
rying the floral tributes were
Blair Fraser, Paul Mont-
gomery, David Montgomery
and Douglas Montgomery.
