Mrs. Annie Griffith pa*Sed
away in Wingham and
District Hospital on
Tuesday, March 13, In her
87th year.
The former Ethel Ann
Hislop, Mrs. Griffith was
born in Howick Township on
June 9, 1897. She was
predeceased by liter husband,
George E. "Griffith, in 1966
and one son Jack in 1978.
Mrs. Griffith was a lifelong
resident of Howick'Township
until she moved to Callander
Nursing Home; Brussels, in
October 1980. She was a
faithful member of St.
James' Anglican Church,
Wroxeter, and following the
closing of St. James', St.
Stephen's Anglican Church,
Gorrie.
Left to mourn her passing
are two daughters, Mrs.
Wallace (Millie) Nixon,
Fordwich, and Mrs. Glenn
(Elizabeth) McKercher,
Jamestown, and a sister-in-
law, Maggie Griffith of
Brussels. There are four
grandchildren, Norman
Nixon, Kitchener, Howard
Nixon, Sajilt Ste. Marie, Ann
Larsen, arnia, and John
McKercher, Jamestown, and
seven great-grandchildren.
She is.also survived by two
sisters and one brother, Mrs.
Cliff (Eileen) Marks,
Wroxeter, Mrs. James
(Leila) Sanderson, Rose -
town, Saskatchewan, and
George Hislop, Brussels. She
was predeceased by one
brother and two sisters.
Friends paid their respects
at the Gerrie Chapel of M. L.
Watts Funeral Homes where
Mrs. Griffith rested until
Friday when removal was
made to St. Stephen's
Anglican Church where the
funeral and committal'.
service was conducted by
Rev. William Gray at two
o'clock. Honorary pallbear-
ers were Andy McMichael,
George Adams, Arnpld Ball,
George Gibson, Laverne
Housser and Vernon Hupfer.
Spring interment will take
place in Wroxeter Cemetery.

Plumbing and Berry Door.
He was a member of
Wingham Masonic Lodge
No. 286 and served as a
volunteer firemen with the
Wingham Fire Department
from 1932 until 1945.
Mr. Young was prede-
ceased by `his parents, Alex-
ander Young and Isabel Mc-
Cormick; one sister and one
brother. In 1956, he was be-
reaved by the death of his

She was in her 74th year.

Elizabeth Shepherd, Mrs.
Freeman is survived by her
husband; one son, Wilbert,
at home; two daughters,
Mrs. Alex (Gertrude)
Downs, , Elora, and Mrs.
Jerry (Bernice) Shea .of
Guelph; and three grand-
children, Marilyn, Harvey
and Barbara. There are two
brothers, Milford and Irwin
Shepherd.
Mrs. Freeman was a faith-
ful member of the Gorrie
United Church where she at.
one time served as organist.

at the Gorrie Chapel of M. L.
Watts Funeral Homes until
today (Wednesday) -when
funeral service was con-
ducted at two o'clock by her
minister, Rev. Lloyd Martin.

Edward Marsh passes
following brief illness
Following a brief illness,
Edward William Marsh
passed away Monday,
March 12, at his residence,
RR 4, Wingham. He was 74
years of age.
A son of the late William
1Vlarsh and Mary Nicholson,
Mr. Marsh was born October
12, 1909, in Hoick Town-
ship. His early education
was received at Wroxeter,
then he moved with his
family to East Wawanosh
Township where he com-
pleted his education. He
Worked for Lloyd Doors for
several years and owned and
operated his own trucking
business from 1946 until his
retirement in 1976. He was a
member of the Wingham
United Church and the In-
dependent Order of Odd -
fellows.
Left to mourn his passing
are his wife, the former Vera
Casemore, whom he married
in Wingham in 1938, and one
sister, Mrs. ,Oscar (Irene)
Hodgins of Lucknow. There
are six nephews.
The late Ed Marsh rested
at The Currie -Walker
Funeral Home, Wingham,
where friends paid their
respects until Wednesday,
March 14, when service was
conducted by Rev. J. Rea
Grant at two o'clock. Final
resting place will be
Wingham Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ken
Stapleton, Bill Willis, Lynn
Hoy, Harold Casemore,
Lloyd Robertson and Glen
Casemore. Floral tributes
were carried by Fred Lewis
and Alan McGill.

Kailer, Mrs. Russell (Edna)
Baird and Mrs. Arnold
(Jean) Jeffray; and one son,
Donald MacAdam, all of RR
2, Wingham. There are 21 •
grandchildren and 25' great-
grandchildren. •

Wawanosh Federation of Agriculture and members are Ralph Scott, first vice presi-
dent; Les Caldwell, secretary -treasurer; and Chris Palmer, president. Jack Wilkinson,
second vice president of the Ontario federation, was guest speaker at the meeting
which started with a beef -pork dinner at the Belgrave Women's Institute Hall.
