The project will also cover home and farm beautifica- tion to help Ontario look its best as it celebrates its 200th . birthda3' this„year;.,. Members will learn how to best use the land in their garden for the produce or flowers they want to grow. Soil sampling and testing will be done to show young gardeners how to improve the growth of their' plants. Solving weed and insect problems and 'caring 'for lawns and shrubs also will be covered, and .members will learn how to exhibit their vegetables. • The members may choose what they grow in their gardens, but they must grow at least one new vegetable they have never cultivated before. Senior members will be encouraged to start some perennial plants like a rose garden, a grapevine or rhubarb. The home and farm beautification section will include taking "before” and "after" photographs.
