McLean dies. in Western Canada A highly esteemed resi- dent of Plenty, Saskatche- wan, James Leonard Mc- Lean, passed away Febru- ary 3 in Kerrobert, Sas- katchewan, hospital. Mr. McLean was born in Ashfield Township June 19, 1896, a son of the late John D. and Margaret McLean. In his early childhood he moved with his family to the Wingham area and was educated at SS No. 9, Turn - berry School. While a youth he went to Manitoba to work as a farm laborer and later to Plenty, Sask., where he settled as a wheat farmer. Later he joined the Royal Canadian ' Mounted Police and when World War I broke out he enlisted with the. Royal Canadian Dragoon Regi- ment at Regina, serving overseas. Returning to Plenty on the conclusion of the war he returned to wheat farming and married Margaret Brown who predeceased him PERFORMANCE printing, Smiths Falls, Ontario re- quires experienced person for camera and stripping de- partment. Leonard McLean was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion at Plenty and was also instrumental in establishing the Wheat Pool in Saskatchewan. He had resided at the Buena Vista Lodge in Kerrobert for the last two years. Funeral service was held at Plenty United Church on February 6 with Rev. James L. Osborne officiating. He leaves to mourn his passing two sons, Archie of Plenty and Donald of North Bat- tleford; four grandchildren and five great-grandchil- dren; one brother Donald, who resides at Ingersoll; sis- ters Jean of Northville, Michigan, Pearl of • Royal Oak, Michigan, and Clara of Windsor. He was prede- ceased by his parents, wife, one son, two brothers and one sister. Mr. and Mrs. John Donaldson of Wingham attended the funeral. ANDERSON—In loving memory of Oliver G. Ander- son who passed away 50 years agj January 22, 1934. It has taken many years to realize in full the loss of a Dad's good advice and wide experiences but we had the blessing of having a dedicat- ed and wonderful Mother. His ability to be a good man- ager -was well -demonstrated - when he left us with well- maintained implements, well-equipped barn and a house with modern conveni- ences. I'll always remember themany good neighbors, especially Mr. and Mrs. Charles Johnston for their kindness and helpfulness at. the time of our bereavement. --Sadly missed and fondly remembered by Ross. DEATHS GIBSON—Passed away Tuesday, February 7, at Wingham 'and District Hospital, Mrs. Cora Aleen Gibson of Callander Nursing Home, Brussels, in her 93rd year. She is survived by one son, Gerald Gibson of Brussels; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Taylor of Brussels and Mrs. Ted (Lillian) Mitchell of Markham; 14 grand- children and 13 great grandchildren. There is one sister, Mrs. Harvey Gibson of Fordwich. She was predeceased by her husband, John Gibson ; one son, Harvey; one daughter, Aleen; and one brother. "Jack" Hiscox of 450 Vincent St., Woodstock, in his 75th year. Mr. Hiscox was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hiscox who were former residents of Teeswater where Norman was station agent for several years. During his years in Woodstock, Jack was a longtime employee of Standard Tube Ltd. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, the former Hazel Noreen Wolfe of Lakelet; two sons, Jon of Woodstock and Jim of Walkerton; his daughters-in-law, Jean and Sandra; two grand- sons, Andrew and Robert of Walkerton; two gran- ddaughters, Velma and Rhonda of Woodstock; and one sister, Dr. Dorothy Reed, and her husband Norm of Flesherton and currently of Portugal. He was the dear brother-in- law. of Mrs. William Giles of Lambeth, Anson Wolfe of Melbourne, Mrs. Rowland Ballagh of Wingham, Stan Wolfe, Harriston, Mrs. Tom Jackson, Guelph, and Mrs. Jack Ferguson, Listowel.
