determined effort
Th 'Wgham OptinKaist
Atoms traveled toorth
last week to play tli' trong
S.eaforth, club, which
currently leads the league
with only one loss.
The final result was
Wingham 5, Seaforth' 1 as
Wingham played one of its
best games of the year,
consistently staying on toil of
the Seaforth skaters.
Determination, excellent
passing and strong goal-
tending were the contri-
buting factors.
In the first period, Ryan
Deyell scored a pretty goal,
assisted by Robbie Harrison
and Jason Bloemberg. Less
than twq minutes later,
Seaforth tied the game.
Robbie Harrison scored
midway through the second
period, assisted by Scott
Neil. With only nine seconds
left in the second, Seaforth
made a costly error in
clearing the puck out of its
end. The goalie apparently
thoughthis club was going to
clear the puck and started
skating toward the bench,
but Bloemberg intercepted.
the pass and scored on the
somewhat embarrassed
Seaforthsquad.
Scott Neil scored a picture
goal assisted by David
McKee. with- only one second
left in the second period.
The third period saw both
teams play an exciting brand
of hockey as Deyell, assisted
by Harrison and McKee,
rounded out the scoring
while Seaforth was short-
handed.
The team's record now
stands at 20 wins, 12 losses
and one tie: The team is
averaging 4.6 goals per
game and the goals against
is 2.8. The boys are playing
an exciting brand of hockey.
