The K -W School of Horticulture is unique among Canadian
'Horticulture Schools offering two programs.- General Horticulture and
Floriculture Design. Each student spends almost 65% of his or her time
learning through practical "hands on" experience as well as on the Co-op
Training Program.. The remainder is spent in the classroom.

EVENING CLASSES
These programs are offered Monday - Thursday 7 - 10 pm one
or two evenings per week depending on the program. The
programs are usually completed in 30 weeks,
Residential. Landscaping
Starts Monday, January 16, 1984.
7 - 10 pm. 10 weeks. Course fee 387.00
The student will be introduced to the basic landscape design
and planning, garden soils,'p aintenance of the lawn areas;
pruning techniques, trees and shrubs, feitilizers, annuals kb
perennials. This is a must for home owners: Also Included will
be field trips to local garden centres.
Landscape Construction
Techniques
Starts Thursday, January 26, 1984.
7 • 10 pm. 4 weeks. Course fee 3175,00
(all materials extra)
Maximum enrollment: 12 students.
This is a hands on practical program consisting of 30 hours of
do-it-yourself techniques, It would be suitable for the person
who wishes to construct: a patio, lay Interlocking stone,
build a 'gazebo or benches, or build retaining walls using
.pressure;treated materials.

Starts: Tuesday, January 10, 1984.
7 • 10 pm. 10 weeks. Course,,Fee: $94.00 each semester.
Fee includes all tools. Materials extra.
Maximum enrollment: 15 students.'
Semester I introduces the student to be aware of the various
commercial and business aspects of the flower trade. Topics
such as ordering, cash register experlence,' care of cut flowers
on arrival, the using of wire services including U.F.C. and
F.T.O. credit card ordering. The basics .of floral design' corsage
making and table centre design and flowerarranging are also
covered.
