Ironmen outlast Bulldogs
The Wingham Ironmen moved
to within two points of third place
Kincardine Bulldogs by scoring a
big 8-6 decision over the Bulldogs
Sunday afternoon at the Lockridge
Memorial Arena.
The Ironmen travelled to Hano-
ver on Friday, and were handed a
5-4 setback by the Barons in West-
ern Junior 'C' Hockey League ac-
tion. .
Ironmen coach Bill Brown said
the decision over the Bulldogs was
a big win for the Wingham squad,
as a loss would have put the Iron -
men six points back of Kincardine.
"With the win, we now sit two
points back with two games in
hand," said the coach.
He said the players played with
the desire and determination the
coaching staff has been looking for
all season.
"We showed a lot of character
after being up 5-1, then having
Kincardine come to tie the score at
five in the second period," said
Brown. "Some teams may have to-
tally collapsed, but we didn't."
The coach said it was great to
see Chris Buchanan break out of a
scoring slump, with a three -goal
performance.

Kyle Wheeler added a pair of
goals for the Ironmen with Brad
Anderson, Tim Good, and Brent
Robinson adding singles. Justin
Murray and Anderson received two
assists each.
The Ironmen had four power
play goals. including the eventual
winner by Buchanan at 12:33 of
the third period.
Chris Knott had two goals for
Kincardine with single markers
from John Holmes, Randy Dowler,
Dave Keil, and Geoff Gunson.
David Bartman made 45 saves in
the Wingham net while Jeremy
Beatty and Gord Davies combined
for 30 stops in the Kincardine net.
Wingham and Hanover were
even at two after one period Friday
evening with the Barons taking a'

Lady Mustangs win
The Madill Lady Mustangs re-

record to seven wins and three
losses with two straight wins last
week.
After scoring an 11-3 decision
over Durham on Nov. 26, the Pee
Wee Bs doubled up Walkerton 4-2
on Sunday.
Durham visited the Lockridge
Memorial Arena on Nov. 26; but
never really showed, up on the ice.
Wingham jumped into a quick
three -goal lead in the first with
goals from Kyle Anderson, Justin
Campbell, and Tom Mullins.
Wingham added four more un-
answered goals in the second peri-
od to take a 7-0 lead. Scoring were
Justin Black, Campbell, Jim
McCracken, and Brett Coulthard
tallied before Durham got their
first of the game.
The onslaught continued in the
third as Jamie Koch scored, along
with Aaron Himmelman. Coul-
thard and Anderson added • their
second goals of the game.
Walkerton came to town on
Sunday and take an' early second
period lead before Campbell
scored from Tim Robinson. Koch
broke the tie with his second of
the year, unassisted. Wingham
jumped out into a two -goal lead as
Mullin took a pass from Garrett
Skims and Himmelman. The teams
played evenly until the end of the
third when Walkerton got close
with 1:10 remaining. The` Pressure
was on, but Wingham didn't give
another chance and Himmelman.

Crusaders split league games
After falling 11-4 to the Clinton
Radars on Friday evening, the
Brussels Crusaders rebounded for
a 5-3 decision over t4e Arthur Ti-
gers in WOAA Senior 'A' Hockey
League play on the weekend.
Playing at home Saturday eve-
ning, the Crusaders and Tigers
were even at 1-1 after the first pe-
riod, with the Crusaders taking a
3-2 lead into the final period.
Mike MacKay netted the first
Crusaders goal with help from
Greg Mulvey and Brad Beuer-
mann. Tom McDonald scored an
unassisted marker and then Brent
Van Den Akker scored with help
from Ted Sills and Tim Fritz.
Fritz netted the fourth Brussels
goal from Sills and Van Den Ak-
ker; and then Jeff Earl fired the
fifth marker with help from Corey
Falcons beat
Monarchs 6-4

and Darrell Hancock replied for
the Tigers.
Playing in Clinton on Friday,
the Crusaders trailed 4-1 after the
first period and were behind 5-3
going into the final period.
Getting the markers for the Cru-
saders were McDonald, Van Den
Akker, McKee, and Brian Camp-
bell.
Paul Mcllwain netted three
goals for the Radars with Tim Har-
rison and Bob Snell scoring two
apiece. Single markers were added
by Jason Fleet, John Graham, and
John Scruton.
Teeswater Falcons split a pair of
weekend contests in WOAA Senior
'B' Hockey League play.
After scoring a 6-4 decision over
the Mildmay Monarchs on Friday;
the Falcons were handed a 10-4 set -
hack by the Dundalk Flyers on Sat-
urday.
The Falcons found themselves
trailing 5-1 after one period of play
Saturday against the Flyers. The
score was 5-3 after two periods of
player, the Dundalk outscored the
Falcons 5-1 in the final period to
post the lopsided decision.
Kyle Cronin had two goals for
the Falcons with Shawn Fischer
and Jay Marston adding singles.
Shawn Miller had four goals for
Dundalk with Lou Belwood and
Todd Davis chipping in with two
each. Brent Fraser and John Birr
netted single goals.
Troy Fischer scored two goals
Friday evening to pace the Falcons
to its decision over the Monarchs.
Firing single markers were Todd
Templeman, Tim Schiestel, Shawn
Fischer, and Corey Schiestel.
Scoring for the Monarchs were
Pete Irwin, Glen Ditmer, John Bu-
jold, and Randy Fretz.

The next game for the Lady
Mustangs is Dec. 15 when they
travel to Clinton for a game
