A veteran of World War II, Mr. Glenn was a member of the Luck - now United Church, Lucknow Branch No. 309 of the Royal Cana- dian Legion and the Masonic Lodge. ` Born June 8, 1926, Oliver Glenn was a son of Frank. Glenn and his wife, the former Mary Cooke. Left to mourn her husband's passing is Lenore (Adams) •Glenn. He also is survived by a daughter, Janine Hamilton • of Lucknow and grand- sons Jordan and Shea Hamilton. There are four brothers surviv- ing: Harold Glenn of Dungannon; Donald Glenn of Richmond Hill; Vernon Glenn of Goderich and Gerrie Glenn, Hensall. Mr. Glenn's sister, Joyce Pocock of Dawson Creek, B.C., also survives. He was predeceased by one daughter, Mary Lynn Glenn; his parents, Frank and Mary Glenn; one brother, Jack and a sister, June. Visitation was held Saturday, Nov. 18, 1995, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home, Luck - now, Legion Branch No. 309, Lucknow held a service Saturday at 9 p.m. and an Old Light No. 184 Masonic Lodge Service was held Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The funeral service was held in the Lucknow United Church on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. with Rev. William Bresnahan officiat- ing. Pallbearers were Rob Glenn, John Glenn, Brian Glenn, Andrew Glenn, John Adams and Dave Ad- ams. Spring interment in Greenhill Cemetery, Lucknow. LAVIS--Mary Evelyn Lavis of Lucknow passed away last Thurs- day, Nov. 23, 1995, at Wingham and District Hospital at the age of 85. Born Dec. 4, 1909, in Huron Township, Mrs. Lavis was a daugh- ter of the late Roderick Campbell and his wife, Catherine Fisher. Mrs. Lavis was an active mem- ber of South Kinloss Presbyterian Church and its choir. She also be- longed to the Kairshea Women's Institute and the Lucknow Horticul- tural Society. She was predeceased by her hus- band, Harry Lavis, in 1994. Left to mourn his mother's passing is one son, Jim Lavis and his wife Mary of Wingham. One sister survives, Catherine Campbell of Wingham, as well as two brothers, Bob Campbell and his wife Wilda and Harold Camp- bell and his wife Marion, all of Lucknow. There are several nieces and nephews. Four step -grandchildren survive and are: Jane and Gordon Machan, Bluevale; Ruth and Dale Machan, Brussels; Joan and Ross Living- ston, Listowel and Pat and Dan Campbell, Bluevale. There also are nine step -great-grandchildren. Visitation was held at the MacK- enzie & McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow, last Friday, Nov. 24, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The fu- neral service was held �n Saturday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. P. Kins- man of South Kinloss Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers were Dan Campbell, Ken Hodgkinson, Doug Campbell, Herb Clark, Frank MacKenzie and Don Bell. Grant Farrish carried floral tributes. Therefore it would be alright to maintain the current weight levels on the bridge. The sign at the entrance to the bridge would state that Level 1 is for dump trucks, Level 2 for semi- trailer units, and Level 3 for semi- trailer units with another trailer be- hind. By-law 72, approving the levels for the bridge, was passed by coun- cil. Council approved the hiring of Allan Walker as the snow plow driver for the Morris Township roads department. He begins Dec. Changes to the plan of opera- tions for the township'slandfill site were discussed by council. The Ministry of Environment and Energy (MOEE) wanted an ex- tra hydro -geological study done for Stage III of the landfill site. Michie said that Maitland Engi- neering Services of Wingham rec- ommended that they wait 40 years before doing another study, be- cause the township is not ready to use Stage III of the landfill site. The roads superintendent noted that they have received approval from the Owen Sound office for the delay, but have yet to receive similar confirmation from Toronto. NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING CONCERNING A PROPOSED OFFICIAL PLAN AMENDMENT AFFCTING THE TOWN OF WINGHAM TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the TOWN OF WINGHAM will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, January 2, 1996 at 7:15 p.m. in the Wingham Town Hall to consider a proposed Official Plan Amendment under Section 17 of the Planning Act and a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act, RSO 1990, as amended. The proposed Official Plan Amendment would change the designation on parts of the now abandoned former Canadian National Railway land in the Town of Wingham. The Town of Wingham Official' Plan designated the Canadian National Railway lands as "Railway Land" on Schedule B, Land Use Plan, Town of Wingham Official Plan. The railway line has now been abandoned and is currently in the ownership of the Town of Wingham. The Town has been reviewing various opportunities for a new lot pattem• As part of the proposal, the Shuter Street road allowance will be extended across the abandoned railway lands and Alice Street will be connected with Jane Street. That part of Lot 1, Concession 1 (former abandoned railway land) between Josephine Street, east to the extension of Alice/Jane Street (Parts 3 and 5 east of Josephine St.) is proposed to be designated Core Commercial. That part of Lot 1, Concession 1 between the extension of Alice/Jane Street, east to Shuter Street (Part 8 ) shall be designated Residential. Further, ,that part of the former abandoned railway land west of Josephine Street (identified as part of Lots 1, 2, 5, 6, and 7, Registered Plan 417 and part of Park Lot 10, Registered Plan 410 (Parts 4&5 west of Josephine St.) will be designated Highway Commercial. A linear portion of the former railway land, on both the east and west sides of Josephine St.(Part 1 west of Josephine St., Parts 1, 2 and 7 east of Josephine St.) shall be designated Community Facility on Schedule B, Land Use Plan, Town of Wingham Official Plan. The proposed designation changes to Highway Commercial and Core Commercial shall permit a variety of commercial type uses to establish on the subject land. That portion to be designated Residential (between Alice/Jane and Shuter Streets) shall allow for an appropriate density of residential developmen. The Town of Wingham has not identified the density of residential development that may be most appropriate. A corresponding Zoning By-law Amendment is p'oposed to reflect each of the designation changes noted above. Parts 3 and 5 (east of Josephine St.) shall be zoned C4 (Core Area Commercial zone.) Part 8 shall be designated FD (Future Development zone.) Part 4 west of Josephine Street, shall be zoned C3 (-Highway Commercial zone.) Part 1, west of Josephine Street, and Parts 1, 2 and 7, east of Josephine Street, shall be designated Community Facility on Schedule B, Land Use Plan, Town of Wingham Official Plan and shall correspondingly be zoned CF2 (Major Community Facility zone) as an amendment to the Comprehensive Zoning By-law 2197 (1992) for the Town of Wingham. This linear portion of the former CNR land is required for the extension of municipal services, including sanitary and storm sewers, and electrical services to the Town of Wingham. ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and or make written or verbal representation either in support of, or in opposition to, the proposed Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment. Written submissions may, be forwarded to Mr. Byron Adams, Clerk (address below.) If person or a public body requests a deferral of the proposed decision in respect to the proposed Official Plan Amendment lb' the Ontario Municipal Board, and does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or does not make written submissions before the proposed Official Plan Amendment is adopted, then, 1) the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, as the approval authority, may refuse the request to defer alt -or part of its proposed decision to the Ontario Municipal Board; and 2) the Ontario Municipal Board may dismiss all or part of the deferral of the proposed decision.
