After scoring a 17-6 decision over the Goderich Pirates on Friday, the Crusaders were edged 8-7 by Ripley Wolves on Saturday. The Wolves scored four un- answered third period goals to claim the win. The Crusaders led 2-1 after the first period and were in front 7-4 after 40 min- utes. Steve Fritz fired three goals for Brussels with Cory McKee chipping in with a pair. Tim Fritz and Brent Van Den Akker added single goals. Sean Burton had four goals for Ripley with Doug Johnson netting a pair. Single goals were added by Bill Paterson and Brad Armstong. Dean Wheeler ,and Van Den. Akker had three goals and four assists each in the win against Goderich. Mike MacKay, Ted Sills, Tom McDonald and McKee had two goals apiece with single markers added by Tim Fritz, Jeff Earl and Brad Beuermann. Darin Doke had three goals for Goderich and Todd Gerber received five assists. The Crusaders led 6-2 after the first period and were in front 16-3 going into the final period. Lancers pos two victories• Lucknow Lancers posted a pair of wins in WOAA Senior 'B' play on the weekend. Steve Simpson fired three goals Sunday afternoon as they downed the Teeswater Falcons 8-5. Chris Stevenson netted a pair of goals with singles added by Brad Murray, Steve Murray, and Darin Lindsay. Scoring for the Falcons were Jay Marsden, Troy Fischer, Ted Fischer, Mike Lang, and Carl Schiestel: The Lancers led 4-1 after the first period and were in front 5- 3 going into the third period. Stevenson fired three goals Friday evening as the Lancers edged out the Grand Valley Tor- nados. Brad Priestap and Dale Pries - tap had one goals each and Brad Murray picked up four assists. Bantams fall to Mount Forest The Wingham Bantams were defeated 4-2 by MountForest on Sunday. Chris Cameron and Wes Sta- pleton were the goal getters for Wingham. Nathan Holbrough had netted a pair for Mount Forest with Chad Aitken and Chris Fairies adding singles. Curtis Ritchie was in goal for Wingham and Michael McClan- aghan was in goal for Mount Forest. The next game for the Ban- tams is Sunday in Listowel, be- ginning at 7:20 p.m. Lady Mustangs begin Friday The Madill Mustangs girls hockey team takes to the ice on Friday at the Lockridge Memo- rial Arena as they begin a series of exhibition games. The Lady Mustangs tangle with Kincardine at 2:30 p.m. The team has been practising for the past month. Following another, practidd session on Nov. 24, the Lady Mustangs travel to Walkerton on Dec. 1 for the 3 p.m. contest. Sixteen teams take to ice for 10th annual Regional Silver Stick midget tournament Sixteen midwestern Ontario hockey teams take to the ice at the Lockridge Memorial Arena, begin- ning Monday evening, in the 10th annual Wingham Regional Silver Stick Midget tournament. Competition begins Monday evening at 7 p.m, and concludes Sunday afternoon with the cham- pionship contests. The B-1 divi- sion championship advances t� the international tournament in Sarnia in January with the B-2 champion- ship team reaching the annual 'C' tournament in Forest, also in Janu- ary. The 10th annual Wingham Re- gional Atom Silver Stick tourna- ment will be played Dec. 4 to 10 at the Lockridge Memorial Arena. Although the regional tourna- ment is being played in Wingham, this year will mark the first time since the tournament began, that a midget entry from the Wingham Minor Hockey Association will . not be competing. Area midget teams competing in the event will be from Teeswa- ter, Lucknow, Blyth and Howick. NESDRY, NOVEMBER 15,1995 Teams in 'A' category of the B- 1 division are New Hamburg, Sea - forth, Listowel, and Walkerton. Teams in 'B' category are Hano- ver, Port Elgin, Mitchell and Kin- cardine. Teams in 'C' category of the B- 2 division are Mildmay, Blyth, Lucknow and Zurich. Teams in 'D' category are Howick, Ripley, Tara and Teeswater. The opening ceremonies will be held Friday evening, followed by the game between Hanover and Mitchell.
