BECKETT--Dorothy Leona
(Ross) Beckett passed away sud
denly in her sleep on Oct. 29, 1995
in Toronto. Funeral services were
held on Friday, Nov. 3.
She will be sadly missed by her
two sons, Stuart and Christopher;
her mother, Nettie Ross of Wing -
ham; her sister, Mary McQueen
and two brothers, Gordon Ross and
Malcolm Ross.

- life member of Bruce Chapter No.
, 253 of the Order of the Eastern
Star.
Visitation was held at the
McBurney Funeral Home, Wing -
ham, on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 2
to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The complete
' funeral service was held at the fu-
neral home on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 2
p.m. with Rev. J. Rea Grant offi-
ciating. Interment in Kincardine
Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Bruce
Harris, Paul Harris, Donald Harris,
Jerry Whelan, Carol Fludder and
Lynne Harris -Bonnett.
Memorial donations to the chari-
ty of your choice would be appre-
ciated as expressions of sympathy.
HEIM--Margarete Heim of British
Columbia and formerly of Wing -
ham, and beloved wife of Guenther
Heim, passed away peacefully on
Nov. 2, 1995, after a long fight
with cancer. She was 61 years of
age.
Donations to the Canadian Can-
cer Society would be appreciated as
expressions of sympathy.
SIELING--Marjorie Sieling of
Wingham passed away at the Brae-
mar Retirement Centre on Wednes-
day, Nov. 1, 1995, in her 92nd
year.
The former Marjorie Wells, she
was the wife of the late Jim Wil-
loughby and the lats_cleorge Siel-
ing.
She was the dear mother of Mrs.
Keith (Jean) Toye, Mrs. Lorne
(Bonnie) Hamilton and Mrs. Norm
(Josephine) Anger, all of Wingham.
She also is survived by her chosen
son, Robert Sieling of Windsor, 10
grandchildren, seven great-
grandchildren and her step-
children, Henry Sieling of Blyth
and Mrs. 1-Iarold (Irene) Bromley of
Seaforth.
Mrs. Sieling was predeceased by
her daughter, Florence Humphrey;
her sisters, Helen (Nellie) Hogg
and Edith Montgomergy and a
brother, Harry Wells.
Visitation was held at the
McBurney Funeral Home in Wing -
ham last Thursday, Nov. 2, from 7
to 9 p.m. A Private funeral service
was held at the funeral home on
Friday, Nov. 3, with Rev. J. Rea
Gram officiating. Interment in
Wingham Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Rick Hum-
phrey, Brad Humphrey, Michael
Hamilton, Steven Anger, Susan
Shephard and .Sandra Molloy.
Flower bearers were great-
granddaughters Carly and Annie
Shephard.
Memorial donations to Wingham
United Church would be appreciat-

GOLL--Mrs. Beth Goll of Morris
Township passed away on Tues-
day, Oct. 31, 1995, at Wingham
and District Hospital in her 74th
year.
The former Beth McCrackin, she
was the beloved wife of the late
Clarence Go11, who predeceased
her in 1991.
Left to mourn the passing of a
dear mother is Ross and Dianne
Goll of RR 4, Wingham. She was
the beloved grandmother of Lisa
and Elizabeth Goll and Jordan and
Steven Guy. She was the sister of
Mrs. Stanley (Vera) Moffatt and
Lorne McCrackin, both of Bluevale
and Mrs. Harry (Lila) Goll of Brus-
sels.
Visitation was held at the
McBurney Funeral Home, Wing -
ham, last Wednesday, Nov. 1, from
2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral
service was held in the funeral
home on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 2
p.m. with Rev. Randy Banks offi-
ciating. Interment in Wingham Ce-
metery.
Pallbearers included Harold
Johnston, Murray McCrackin, Ken
Nethercott, Gerry Brewer, Bernard
Thomas and John Macintosh. Jor-
dan and Steven Guy carried Floral
tributes.
Memorial donations to Bluevale

HARRIS --Greta Irene Harris of
Wingham and formerly of Kincar-
''dine passed away at Wingham and
District Hospital on Friday, Nov. 3,
1995, in her 93rd year..
The beloved daughter of the late
James and Elizabeth Harris of Kin-
cardine, Miss Harris is survived by
several nieces and nephews: Jim
• Harris of London, Ronald, Robert
and Murray Harris, all of Kincar-
dine, Margaret Whelan of Calgary,
Glen Harris of Lucknow and Mari-
on' Ellis of Port Etgitt.
Miss Harris was predeceased by
her brothers, Harold, Goldwin and
Eldred Harris and her nephew, Gor-
don Harris.
Greta Harris was a store manager
for Stedmans in Kincardine, St.
Mary's and Wingham and later
owned and operated Harris Station-
ery in Wingham from Nov. 9,
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Mundell and
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Faust enjoyed
a trip to New York City last week.
While there they saw Carol Burnett
in the comedy "Moon Over Buffa-
lo". The two couples also enjoyed
a cruise on the Hudson River and a
city tour of Manhattan, including
the financial district. A special treat
was a short walk in Central Park to
see the flowers in full bloom.

BLUEVALE--The United Church
Women met last Wednesday, Nov.
1, with a good attendance.
The president, Etoble Johnston,
opened with a poem. The minutes
were read by Shirley Nicholson and
the treasurer's report given by Au-
drey Edgar.
The hymn "We Plough the
Fields and Scatter" was sung with
Eileen Sellers at the piano. Jean
Mathers read the scripture from
Psalm 104. The convenors for the
meeting were Mrs. Nicholson and
Mrs. Edgar and the topic was ste-
wardship. Bessie Johnston helped
with a skit on concerns about the
environment.
The hymn "Savior, Again to Thy
Dear Name We Raise" was sung,
followed by a prayer by Mrs. Ed-
gar.
The nominating report was given
by Bessie Johnston and Nancy Cor-
rigan gave a report on the fall rally
at Whitechurch.
Lunch was served by Unit 4 and
a social time enjoyed.

Harry and Lorna Moss of Platts-
ville visited with Donna and Mel
Craig last Sunday.
Marg and Keith Moffatt were
guests last Sunday of George and
Joan McElwain of Stratford. •

The Bluevale Senior Citizens
held its October meeting last Mon-
day, Oct. 30. After a short meeting
conducted by the president, Joe
Walker, a few games of cards were
played. Winners were: high lady,
Shirley Skelton; low lady, Eliza-
beth McKercher; lucky lady, Au-
drey Edgar; high man, Mel Craig;
low man, Gordon Mundell and
lucky man, Eddie'Powell.
Mr. and Mrs. Noah Byler and
Sarah of Marian, Kentucky; Rudy
Byler, Owen, Marcia and Don and
Shirley Lewis of Vermontville,
Mich., were supper guests last
Wednesday of Robin and Florence
Bolander. All but Mr. and Mrs.
Noah Byler spent the night at the
Bolander home. Mr. and Mrs.
Byler spent the night with Dave
and Marie Dickert of Wingham.
Last Thursday, they visited with
Nellie Taylor.
Frank and Alice Chapman of
Clinton were renewing acquain-
tances in the village
The Nickel family held its annu-
al get-together last Wednesday at
The Riverboat Restaurant and
spent the afternoon with Ada
Aitchison of Wingham.
Beryl Steurnol dropped in at the
home of Paul and Glenys Smith of
RR 2, Atwood, last Thursday to
say goodbye to her granddaugher.
Kaley, who will be leaving for a
holiday with friends in Kent
County, England. She also will .be
going to Wales to stay with her
great-aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs.
Ray Carpenter of Rhondda Valley.
Kathleen King passed away at
Merlin last Tuesday at the age of
90. Her father, Rev. David Arm-
strong, was the Presbyterian minis-
ter at Wroxeter during the 1920s
and started the Young People's
Group. Agnes Burke was a girl-
hood friend of Kathleen's and they
always kept in touch. Mrs. King
and some members of her family
attended Church celebrations here
in 1992 and really enjoyed the fes-
tivities.
When Marcia Gibson came
home for the weekend recently, she
brought Eva Stafford of London to
visit Mildred Coupland and Marga-
ret Barnard of Hensall to visit her
sister, Agnes Burke. Eleanore Gib-
son returned to London with Mar-
cia and attended the graduation of
her son, Arthur, at Alumni Hall,
University of Western Ontario. Ar-
thur Everard Gibson received his
diaster of education. Congratula-
tiipns, Arthur.

Justin Campbell was the winner
in the Ghost and Gremlins coloring
contest held at the Valumart in
Wingham. Congratulations, Justin.
Gordon McBurney still is a pa-
tient in Wingham and District Hos-
pital. Relatives, friends and neigh-
bors wish him a speedy recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. Wellington Marks,
Mr. and Mrs., Murray Marks,
Brian, Craig and T.J., Ken Marks
and friend Annette Cerson, as well
as Melissa and Derek Marks, were
guests of Judy and Bob Bell to help
celebrate the 50th wedding anniver-
sary of Mr. and Mrs. Wellington
Marks. They dined at a Clinton res-
taurant, where a delicious supper
was enjoyed. Congratulations from
relatives, friends and neighbors on
this very special occasion.
"Mabel's Moms" met Nov. 1 at
the home of Mabel Wheeler. Those
attending were: Donna Raynard,
Margaret Bailey and family of
Oak Lake, Man., visited recently
with Evelyn and Dave Gibb.
Mr. and Mrs. Carmen Whytock
returned home last Tuesday after
spending two weeks with Rev. and
Mrs. Jack Whytock and family of
Moncton, N.B.
Archie and Mildred Purdon re-
turned recently from a three-week
trip including England, Ireland,
Wales and Scotland. They report
good fall weather while they were
away.
Mildred McClenaghan returned
home last weekend from a five-
week trip to Vancouver, Los An-
geles and Edmonton. She visited
with Muriel Thompson and George
Watt at Edmonton; Doris (McClen-
aghan) Coleman of Nanaimo, B.C.;
George Sealy and Donald Watt in
Vancouver; Mr. and Mrs. Graham
Garbert of Langley, B.C.; Barbara
(Gaunt) Trusdell of Dunkin, B.C.
She also visited a former classmate,
Dr. Mae Komiyama of Vancouver
and had lunch with Richard Day of
Vancouver and formerly of White-
church. While in Los Angeles, she
visited with her cousins, Mr. and
Mrs. R. Bobst and with Ruth Ann
Cox of Red Deer, Alta.,a daughter
of -Rev., praydon
well-known here. " -

ed the 50th wedding anniversary of
Rev. Mrs. Clarence McClenaghan
of Kincardine last Saturday.
Don and Jean Ross spent the
weekend attending the Lincoln
Welland Regiment reunion in St.
Catharines.
Trevor and Heidi; Waneta Leish-
man and Melissa; Andrea Steven-
son, Mathew and Tyler; Kim Hig-
gins and Laura; Linda Hess and
Andrew; Pat Konings, Olivia and
Eliza; Bets Higgins, Meagan, Me-
lissa and Kate and Lila Procter and
Ben. The topic was allergies.
Good turnout
for Wroxeter
potluck dinner
WROXETER--A cool, brisk au-
tumn day brought a good turnout
for the Wroxeter Seniors' monthly
potluck dinner and meeting. Phyllis
and Glen McMichael were wel-
comed to the group and all seniors
are invited to come and enjoy the
social time each month.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Horsley were
hosts for the month. Red and green
streamers, table centrepieces of
snowman and Santas on white felt
decorated the tables. The bountiful
potluck lunch was enjoyed by all.
Shirley Hart introduced the
guest, Mrs. Coby Amoraal of
Goderich Place Seniors' Retire-
ment Home to give members some
tips on planning the retirement
years.
Seniors have many choices now
for health care, income security,
community involvement, support
from people outside the immediate
family, long and short-term care.
Seniors must look at all their op-
tions very carefully to get what
suits theirindividual needs and fi-
nances. People respond to kind-
ness, a happy environment, good
meals, supervised medication and
independence when possible.
She showed slides taken of peo-
ple enjoying many activities, as
well as the spacious rooms, pleas-
ant decor in which they live.
Mrs. Hart thanked Mrs. Amoraal
for her interesting and informative.
talk and wished her well.
Mrs. Hart welcomed the mem-
bers and thanked the hosts, Mr. and
Mrs. Horsley. The minutes of the
last meeting were presented by
Eleanore Gibson and Eileen Hamil-
ton gave the treasurer's report.
Winners of the, monthly draws ,;
were Ken Edgar, Ed Horsley,
Frances Atton, Helen Fairish, Ei-
leen Hamilton and Anne Yoeman
to provide a bit of excitement.
Our next meeting will be held in
Wingham at the Riverboat Restau-
rant on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 1
p.m. and members will be contact-
ed about attendance and transporta-
tion.
