The Belgrave Community Club
held a dessert shoot party on Fri-
day, Oct. 13, with 11 tables in play.
The winners were: high lady, Ai-
leen Leddy; second high, Audrey
Edgar; most shoots, Alice Nichol-
son; low lady, Agnes Gaunt; high
man, Marj Coultes; second high,
Dennis Leddy; most shoots, Jack
Taylor; low man, Stanley Black.
The next shoot party will be held
this Friday, Oct. 27, in the Belgrave
Institute Hall. Please note the
change of place . A1I are welcome.

There were 13 tables of euchre in
play at the Women's Institute Hall
on Wednesday, Oct. 18.
Alice Nicholson was the high
lady and Jean Thedorf, second
high. Lois Chamney had the' most
lone hands and Ora Bruce was low
lady. Nell Johnston, playing as a
man, was high man and Richard
Moore was second high. Harvey
Edgar had the most lone hands and
Gordon Thedorf was Ithv.

Trophy reeipients...The F.E. Madill cross-country team claimed the Doug Lud-
wig Memorial Trophy for having the lowest point total of the school's best four teams. The girls
teams won the overall title and the boys teams came up one point short as Stratford Central
took the overall title. The midget girls and the junior boys also captured conference titles.
Mustangs run to top honors
The Madill cross-country team
claimed top honors last Tuesday at
the Huron -Perth championship,
held at the Wingham high school
course, as they collected three con-
ference pennants.
Sjaan Gerth ran to a first place
finish in the 4900 -km midget boys
race, with Jamie Good finishing in
the runner-up spot.
The junior boys team of Dennis
Lubbers, John Deyell, B.J. Prince,
and Rodney Ireland placed sec-
ond, third, fourth, and seventh to
capture first place team honors.
The Madill midget girls team of
Rae Lynn Pellet, Melina Hussey,
Shannon Thompson, and Heather
Ballagh were also conference team
champions.
The Mustangs also claimed the
overall girls pennant and the Doug
Ludwig • Memorial Award for the
best, four team scores.
All 41 runners on the school's
cross-country team advanced to
the WOSSA championships which
is being held tomorrow_. near
Aylmer.

first in the single round 50 -point
game 'A' division of the horseshoes
'competition held Thursday at the
Wingham Sportsmen Club. They had
four wins.
Jim Nelson and Paul McKee were
second with three wins and +24. Jack
Arnold and John Schaus were third
with two wins and +80. Al MacKen-
zie and Lin Hewitt' wee fourth with
qne,� win and +86. Harold Carter and
Stifnie Bender were firth with zero
wins and +98.
AB' division
Bill McAstocker and Roger Irvine
were first in the single round 40 -
point game `B' division with four
wins and +37.
Lorne Kuntz and Jim Weppler
were second with three wins and
+63. Ivan' Gardner and Bob Burr
were third with three wins and +61.
Dan Stacey and Peter DeGroot were
fourth with two wins and +111. Har-

Bulls rebound against Wolves

After falling to Hanover Barons
at home Saturday evening, the
Brussels Bulls travelled to Wiar-
ton Sunday afternoon and posted a
6-1 decision over the Wolves in
Western Junior 'C' Hockey
League play.
The Bulls held a 2-0 advantage
after the first period on Sunday
and then took a 4-0 lead into the
final period.
Jamie Taylor lost his shut out
about midway through the third
period.
Tim Beyer paced the Brussels
offence with a three -goal effort.
Darin Alviano and Ryan Wright
collected one goal and two assists
each. Brian McNichol chipped in
with a single marker.
Despite outshooting the Barons
38-30 on Saturday, the Bulls were
handed a 6-4 setback.
Brussels outshot Hanover 14-7
in the opening period, but trailed
on the scoreboard 3-1. The. Barons
took a 5-1 lead into the final peri-
od.
Sheldon Mustard netted a pair
of goals for Brussels with Alviano
getting one goal and one assist. Ja-
son Heipel fired a single marker.
Wright picked up a pair of as-
sists with single helpers being re-
ceived by Peter Ryter, Corey
Bridges, and Beyer.
Greg Hellyer was in net for the
Barons.
Mike Henry takes over as head
coach of the Bulls, while Jim
Bridges remains with the team as
the assistant coach.
The Bulls travel to Walkerton
on Friday for a 9 p.m. game
against the Blackhawks.
